With faith in Ukraine to victory!
Not only the deputy director of the campus, but also a true patriot of the Zaporizhzhia region. Keda Vadim Serhiyovych became the winner of the literary and research competition «Patriotism in the fate of Zaporizhzhia» and took the honorable first place in the nomination «Patriotism of the period of independence of Ukraine», which was held by the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration.
Vadim Serhiyovych’s work is dedicated to Oleksandr Fedorovych Bilousenko, our countryman and contemporary. It not only introduced everyone who is not indifferent to the history of his native land, but also illustrated the formation of independence and strengthening of statehood using the example of our region.
Keda V.S. investigated historical facts, read a book that was presented to his father by Bilousenko himself, compared documents and events of that time. «In Search of a Better Fate» – this was the name of the famous work of Oleksandr Fedorovych. «The last chapter of the first part of the book is devoted to the period from the end of the war to the present day. «The biography of the hero of my research is typical for a young man of that time – school, work on a collective farm in the summer, study at the Orikhov Agricultural College, work on a collective farm again (tractor brigade accountant, combine harvester, tractor driver, chief mechanic). That work was not easy, but as O.F. Bilousenko notes «no one demanded from the authorities appropriate working conditions, special clothing and food, high salaries and trips to sanatoriums» (p.195). Villages were rebuilt. Farms were enlarged and strengthened. Schools, kindergartens, Houses of Culture, hospitals were built» – excerpt from the research work.
The defense of the work began with the words of the great Ukrainian writer Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko «A people who do not know their history, – are not worthy of the future». These prophetic words have passed through the centuries and found their reflection in many generations of young Ukrainians, in those who value and know their history. An example of such people was the graduate of our university, activist, patriot of Zaporizhzhia, Vadym Keda. We sincerely congratulate the winner!
