Elections of the new chairman of the student council of dormitory No. 2

On December 17, 2013, elections were held for the post of head of dormitory No. 2 of Zaporizhzhia National Technical University in the premises of dormitory No. 2.

The conference presidium included: Keda Vadim Serhiyovych – deputy director of the ZNTU campus, Yurasov Andriy Yuriyovych – director of the student self-government center of dormitory No. 2, Matkovsky Oleksiy Anatolyovich – head of dormitory No. 2.

The elections began with the words of Harry Moroz – the current chairman of the student council of this dormitory: «I was the head of the student council of dormitory No. 2 for two years and I managed to fulfill more than half of what was planned. Recently, we have held tournaments in kettlebell sports, many subbotniks, competitions, and the 50th anniversary of the dormitory. He planned a lot, but did not have time to make everything a reality. I would like to create a coat of arms of our hostel, solve the issue of cooperation with the sports department, and repair a room where it would be possible to hold events. Today we will elect a new headman, and I hope that he will continue to implement what was conceived and planned.

Two candidates were nominated for the position of the new chairman: Dmytro Mykhailovych Kapustyan (RT-811) and Oleksii Petrovych Palenkov (M-612).

Candidates made public their vision of the work plan of the student council and directions for the development of the dormitory. Dmytro Kapustyan was the first to speak: "I will try to maintain the old traditions of the hostel, holding competitions in tennis, kettlebells; I want to engage in conducting trainings on various topics that will be interesting to everyone.” Oleksiy Palenkov spoke next: "I will try to continue the work of the previous mayor, I want to improve the territory near the hostel, hold festive events, replace the pipes in the kitchen".

Keda Vadim asked the candidates whether they were morally ready to take on this position, to which each replied: «Of course, because we will be responsible for our work».

Serdyuk Artur – candidate for deputy headmaster also added his word to the above: «I hold the position of platoon commander at the military department; if I become deputy, I will support the headmaster in everything, help with events, and I will also help the residents of the hostel in solving problems».

The elections were attended by the headmasters of all blocks of the hostel, who were elected by delegates of the reporting and electoral conference with the right to vote.

Before the start of the voting, Vadim Keda gave, let’s say, parting words for the elections to the representatives of the student council: «I would like to say that it is you – decisive force, and it is you who will influence the further work of the headman with your decision. He needs to be supported, hold meetings regularly. Support is above all. I wish to realize the responsibility that will fall on him. And if you want your life to be good, make the right choice».

The voting was open. According to the vote count, all fifteen delegates unanimously voted for Dmytro Kapustyan. And Serdyuk Artur was also elected his deputy.

Everyone was satisfied, congratulated the newly elected head of the student council and expressed their wishes.

The student council of dormitory No. 2 expresses gratitude to the conference delegates.
