Visit of a delegation from Kazakhstan
Work continues on the development of international relations with eastern partners. In February, a delegation from Kazakhstan visited ZNTU. The delegation included Umbetov Umirbek Umbetovich – Vice President for Academic Affairs of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Akhmet Yasavi and Khudaybergenov Bauirzhan Amangeldievich – Technical Director of JSC «Kentaus Transformer Plant».
Members of the delegation met with the rector Belikov S.B., vice-rector for scientific work and international activities Naumik V.V., dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Antonov M.L., heads of the departments of electrical machines, electrical and electronic devices, power supply of industrial enterprises, electric drive and automation of industrial installations, information technologies of electronic means, head of the Center for Internationalization and International Cooperation Plynokos D.D., representatives of the VMD and RIS.
Vice-president of the International Kazakh-Turkish University U.Umbetov made a presentation of the university. The International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasawi was established in 1991 on the personal initiative of the Head of State N.A. Nazarbayev and on the basis of the Intergovernmental Agreement between Kazakhstan and Turkey with the aim of training modern highly qualified specialists from the youth of Turkic-speaking countries. The university is located in the spiritual center of the Turkic world – the city of Turkestan and is the first university in Kazakhstan to receive the status of an international higher educational institution.
Today, about 8 thousand students, undergraduates, interns and doctoral candidates from 15 countries of the world study 54 bachelor’s specialties, 30 master’s degrees, 11 doctoral degrees, and 6 internships at 10 faculties of the university. The educational process is carried out by more than 70 doctors of sciences, professors, more than 260 candidates of sciences, associate professors, including 35 professors and employees from Turkey. The educational process uses the most modern educational methods based on computer, information and telecommunication technologies. Lectures by leading foreign scientists are held online using a satellite video conference system. The university has modern specialized laboratories, classrooms with laboratory equipment, and models that contribute to the intensification of the educational process and the conduct of scientific research.
During the meeting, areas of cooperation in education, science, and production were discussed, issues of involving ZNTU faculty members to train personnel in the specialties of «Electrical Power Engineering» and «Automation and Control» at MKTU were considered, issues of student and teacher exchange, and possibilities of implementing a double diploma program.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed, the purpose of which is to develop cooperation in the field of education and scientific research, namely:
– design and implementation of innovative programs for training and retraining personnel in the specialties of «Electrical Power Engineering» and «Automation and Control»;
– development of joint educational programs that meet the achievements of science and the needs of the modern labor market;
– ensuring high quality training of specialists through the joint use of personnel, material and technical, educational and methodological and information resources;
– development of academic mobility of students and teachers;
– involvement of teachers to give lectures and hold seminars for students and undergraduates of the Faculty of Engineering of MKTU;
– implementation of joint research projects;
– creation of a training system focused on specific types of professional activity and professional standards;
– organization of consultation seminars that meet the needs of both parties.
A meeting of representatives of ZNTU and KMTU is planned to be held in Kazakhstan in April.
The guests visited the ZNTU museum, where they got acquainted with the history of the university’s foundation and development, and shared their impressions and wishes in the guest book.
