Congratulations to the freshmen!

On August 31, Zaporizhzhia National Technical University welcomed first-year students with a ceremony of initiation into students. This year, Mashinka welcomed more than 1,800 new students.

The ceremony was opened by the rector of our university, Serhii Borisovych Belikov. According to tradition, he addressed warm wishes to the first-year students, talking about the prospects that are open to the youth of Mashinka.

A number of other distinguished guests were also present at the dedication: representatives of the district, city and regional authorities, representatives of the trade union. In order to draw the attention of the authorities to student problems, «Mashynkiv residents» prepared posters with requests and warnings regarding the recommendations of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine to reduce the number of scholarships and contract master’s degrees. ZNTU rector Serhii Belikov and the head of the regional trade union Nadiya Ivaniva Hryn did not remain indifferent to the students’ petitions. They promised to take part in the most optimal solution to this problem, to protect students from injustice. As a symbol of social protection, first-year students received a trade union card from Nadia Ivanovna.

Keeping traditions, as part of the celebration, the best students of ZNTU laid flowers at the monument to the first director of Oleksandriv Mechanical and Technical School Denys Mykolayovych Poddyerogin and at the monument to teachers, employees and students who died during the War.

Also, the oath of first-year students was traditionally announced, after which new students were given a symbolic key to knowledge and a student card.

Now yesterday’s applicants have become full-fledged students of the best university in the city of Zaporizhzhia! We wish our freshmen good luck, success in their studies and full realization of their expectations!
