Congratulations to the winners of the All-Ukrainian competition from MTS «Professionals of the Future – 2015»!

On May 25, 2015, the finals of the MTS «Professionals of the Future» competition took place in Kyiv. As a result, a team of female students of the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications (town RTT-911):

  (scientific supervisors – Kostenko Valerian Ostapovych, associate professor of RTT department, Harry Volodymyrovych Moroz, assistant of RTT department)

performed excellently, taking second prize and received tablets as a gift. The presence of the team at the Olympics was made possible thanks to the support of the rectorate and trade union committee of students of ZNTU, as well as the MTS Ukraine company.

«Professionals of the future» is a competition of scientific papers among students of telecommunications faculties. The contest was launched in 2006 by the company «MTS Ukraine» and has been held for the 9th year in a row with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, and the National Commission for State Regulation in the Field of Communications and Informatization.

This year, students and teachers of 11 leading technical universities of Ukraine took part in the «Professionals of the Future» competition. All teams developed projects on the topic «Implementation of IP-over-DWDM technology on an IP/MPLS backbone transport network.» The projects are aimed at increasing the economic efficiency of the network due to the IP-over-DWDM technology, which allows to reduce energy consumption, operational and capital costs, as well as to simplify the network architecture.

The jury of the competition, which included representatives of the Ministry of Education, NKRZI, State Special Communications, 11 participating universities, experts of «MTS Ukraine» and partner companies of the competition – evaluated the scientific developments of the teams based on innovativeness, practical value, design logic and architecture, speed of implementation and presentation skills of the participants. The winners are determined by the absolute majority of votes.

The competition jury recognized the following teams as winners:

• 1st place – Lviv Polytechnic National University team
• 2nd place – team of Zaporizhzhia National Technical University
• 3rd place – team of NTUU «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute»

According to tradition, the organizers honored all participants of the «Professionals of the Future 2015» competition in individual nominations that emphasize the strongest aspects of the presented works:

• the team of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (Kharkov) won in the nomination «For the relevance of the presented project»;
• in the nomination «For practical significance and speed of implementation» the team of the National Technical University «KhPI» (Kharkiv) won;
• the team of the Ternopil National Technical University named after I. Pulyuya (Ternopil);
• in the nomination «For an interesting idea and convincing demonstration» the team of Dnipropetrovsk National University named after O. Honchara (Dnipropetrovsk);
• in the nomination «For the elegance of design» the team of the Odesa National Academy of Communications named after O.S. Popova (Odesa);
• the team of the Donetsk National Technical University (Krasnoarmiysk) was awarded in the nomination «For perseverance and tenacity»;
• the team of the State University of Telecommunications (Kyiv) received an award in the nomination «For courage and ability to hold a blow».

Partners, Huawei and UNISON BANK established two nominations as part of the competition. A representative of Huawei, which entered the TOP 50 most innovative companies in the world, personally awarded the team of the National Aviation University, which presented the «Most Innovative Solution» with Huawei smartphones. And for the «Best Financial Solution» team of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University received printers from UNISON BANK.
