Congratulations to our students – participants of the Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Combat Cup «Spas»!
On November 9, 2014, the Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Combat Cup «Spas» in memory of Nestor Ivanovich Makhno was held in Zaporizhzhia. The competition set itself the task of developing and popularizing Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Combat «Spas» as a national sport, developing schools and styles of national martial arts, fulfilling the requirements of the «Unified State Sports Classification of Ukraine», identifying the best athletes in Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Combat «Spas», and patriotic education of the younger generation.
About 100 young fighters from all over the country took part in this competition. Of course, the Cup was not overlooked by the strong and skilled students of our Zaporizhzhia National Technical University. The honor of the «Mashynka» was worthily defended by representatives of the specialized squad «Shield», a team of 3 guys.
The competitions were held in different weight categories from 65 to 90+ kg. It is interesting that the participants represented different martial arts schools: wushu, kung fu, boxing, kickboxing and so on, but competed exclusively according to the rules of «Spas». Let’s note a few basic distinctive rules:
- In no case can you hit with elbows and knees.
- You can fight for no more than 10 seconds.
- Jumping blows are rated higher;
- Throws are also highly rated.
- Loss is determined by pain.
Young people fought not only for prizes, but also in the nominations: «Will to win», «Shortest fight», «For the best technique». The youngest 9-year-old participant of the competition turned out to be the most determined to win, the shortest fight (15 seconds) was demonstrated by representatives of the martial art of Wushu, the title of the best technique went to the fighting school «Tiger-Dragon».
And our guys became one of the best in the following weight categories:
- Danylo Levchenko (IFF) – 2nd place in the weight of 70 kg;
- Andriy Bulava (UFKS) – 2nd place in the weight of 75 kg;
- Vitaliy Bryl (FKNT) – 3rd place in the weight of 70 kg.
Such events are not new for our fighters. The special forces «Shield» is always ready to proudly defend the honor of «Mashynka», which it regularly successfully copes with. So we wish our guys new victories, strength and fighting spirit! May your skills and abilities multiply, because you are our pride, support and protection!
