Congratulations to the ZNTU construction teams!
October 10, 2011 – the day when the movement of student construction teams was resumed at the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University.
It all started when the issue of the lack of places for non-resident students to live in the university’s dormitories arose. In the Zaporizhzhia College of Radio Electronics of ZNTU, three dilapidated floors were «conserved», completely unsuitable for living.
Then the student government and the administration of our university came to the aid of the dormitory. On the initiative of the head of the trade union committee of ZNTU students, Andriy Ivanchenko, with the support of the rector Serhiy Belikov and the director of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Labor Center Yevhen Ryabenko, the idea of resuming the movement of construction teams became a reality.
Andriy Ivanchenko recalls: «Student work teams were recruited for the restoration, which turned out to be a fairly effective and powerful force. They successfully renovated rooms and common areas, thereby solving the task in the shortest possible time. At that time, the head of the team was the current deputy director for the administrative and economic part of the ZNTU Trade Union Committee Oleksiy Shevchenko.
Today, ZNTU student construction teams are a serious organized team that can easily compete with professional builders. Among the participants of our construction teams are skilled electricians, tilers, drywall installation specialists, painters, plasterers, plumbers, in general, etc. They work to improve all our dormitories: they repair rooms, bathrooms, electricity and equip various other facilities. ZNTU student construction teams are an indispensable help and support for the university in solving housing and household issues, and we, the student government, actively support the successful functioning of the construction teams.
The rector of our «Mashinka» expressed his gratitude and congratulations to the workers and management of the student construction teams of ZNTU on the occasion of the biennial celebration of the revival: “I remember how it all began, and I can say with confidence that we fulfilled and even exceeded the set amount of work. And we definitely will not stop there. Therefore, I express my great gratitude and want to congratulate our brave student workers on their personal holiday. For my part, I guarantee support.»
So we can conclude that in society, students are associated with intellectual activity, but using the example of our university, we have fundamentally changed the opinion of the majority and proved that students, having youthful enthusiasm and energy, can direct their strength to useful physical work. Our construction teams are not ashamed of their work, because they understand that in this way they also express their desire for a bright future for their native land.
