VII International youth scientific and technical readings named after A.F. Mozhaisky
In mid-May, the traditional XII conference of young scientists and specialists was held in the city of Alushta on the southern shore of the Black Sea. The conference was organized by the youth work department of JSC «Motor Sych» together with ZNTU, NAU «KHAI», SE ZMKB «Ivchenko-Progress», association «Union of Aviation Engine Construction» and was held on the basis of the boarding house «Obriy». Mozhaisky. Informative presentation by the director of the Voronovytskyi Museum of the History of Aviation and Cosmonautics A.F. Mozhaisky at the plenary session allowed all conference participants to more fully assess the great inventor’s contribution to the development of domestic and world aviation.
Young specialists of the leading aviation enterprises of Ukraine and Russia, graduate students, and the best university students took part in the work of the conference, which has international status. The total number of participants of the seventh conference was almost 150 people. Their geography included cities closely related to aviation: Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Ufa, Perm, Samara.
The guests of the conference are very interesting. The two-time Hero of Socialist Labor, the general designer of the legendary aircraft of the design bureau named after S.V. Ilyushyna Henrikh Vasyliovych Novozhilov, President of the Association «Union of Aviation Engine Construction» Viktor Mykhailovych Chuyko and Rector of ZNTU Professor Serhiy Borisovich Belikov. The young people received their welcoming words with delight. With closer, informal communication directly from the general designer of the Il-76, Il-86 and Il-96-300 aircraft, it was possible to learn about the features of their equipment, the history of design, testing and proofing. Very interesting and informative were his stories about the reasons for adopting certain design solutions and what these legendary planes could be.
The main time at the conference was naturally devoted to work. Four sections worked: design and strength, production and repair technology, structural materials and general issues of aircraft engine construction. For three full working days, the expert commission and participants listened to more than eighty speakers. The best reports were recognized by the program committee with prizes and certificates.
It should be noted that the expert commission included leading specialists of Motor Sich JSC. But the sections, as well as the entire conference, were managed by ZNTU professors: rector S.B. Belikov, head of the Department of Aviation Engine Technology A.Ya. Kachan and director of the machine-building institute L.Y. Ivshchenko.
It should be noted that our university traditionally takes an active part in all levels of such conferences – from organization to sectional presentations. And this is the principle of our rector – mandatory participation in all significant aviation events, despite the difficulties. Thus, the organizational committee of ZNTU decided part of the responsibilities assigned to it for settling and registering guests, organizing and conducting the work of sections, and evaluating the level of reports. Student of group M-610 Oleh Mykhailiutenko and graduate student Olha Bondarenko made presentations.
Well, of course, good work cannot but be accompanied by a full-fledged rest, especially if all favorable circumstances – sea, sun, mountains and friends-colleagues come together so well. The cultural program included a visit to the Aivazovsky Park, a hike on Demerdzhi to the valley of ghosts, as well as a tasting of Crimean wines and a banquet that ended with a large disco.
