WARNING! Massive spread of a dangerous computer virus

In recent days, a very dangerous malware is spreading on the Internet, through which you can guaranteedly and permanently lose all important files and documents on a personal computer with any common version of the Windows operating system that does not have the appropriate security updates.

This malware spreads mostly by exploiting vulnerabilities when opening attachments in specially crafted e-mails, and possibly by exploiting vulnerable Windows components to facilitate file sharing.

For protection, it is necessary to regularly back up important data and strictly follow security rules, including:

– never open attachments of e-mails and other messages, if there is no absolute confidence in their safety (in particular, confidence that the sender complies with security rules)

The following safety rules must also be strictly observed:

– exclude the use of personal technical means as part of production systems (in particular, do not use USB flash drives)

– exclude the connection to the company’s computers of technical means with data transmission modules (Bluetooth, GSM, etc.) designed to create communication channels with public networks and other electronic devices

– exclude the use of production networks by personnel to access personal e-mail, public and socially oriented Internet resources

– to ensure the inadmissibility of opening attachments in suspicious messages (in letters from addressees about which doubts arise; for example: the author has changed the language of communication for unknown reasons; the subject of the letter is atypical for the author; the way in which the author addresses the addressee is atypical, etc.; as well as in messages with non-standard text that encourage to go to suspicious links or to open suspicious files – archives, executable files, etc.)
