Successes in the implementation of the international educational project BIOART
In November 2020, within the framework of the «Innovative Multidisciplinary Curriculum in Artificial Implants for Bio-Engineering BSc/MSc Degrees» (BIOART, reg. number 586114-EPP-1-2017-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) project of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, a new educational program «Telemedical and Biomedical Systems» in specialty 172 «Telecommunications and Radio Engineering» was successfully accredited at the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications (Head of the Department, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Morshchavka S.V.). The implementation of this multidisciplinary program was carried out by the joint efforts of several departments of the university: Radio Engineering and Telecommunications, Software and Physical Materials Science.
In particular, the teachers of the Department of Software Prof. Tabunshchyk G.V., Assoc. Prof. Gladkova O.M., Assoc. Prof. Parkhomenko A.V. and Assoc. Prof. Tulenkov A.V. participated in the preparation of a set of educational and methodological materials and teaching new disciplines of the educational program «Telemedical and Biomedical Systems»:
1) Computer project management systems, regulation and standardization in the medical industry.
2) Medical information infrastructure.
3) CAD of biomedical devices and structures.
4) Embedded biomedical systems and wireless sensor networks.
As a result of the implementation of the BIOART project, not only students of the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications received new educational services and opportunities. Students of the Department of Software also received access to newly developed educational materials (in particular, within the disciplines of «Cyber-Physical Systems», «CAD/CAM/CAE Systems» and others) and new equipment purchased with funds from the BIOART project, and also actively participate in events on the topic of the project.
So, within the framework of the Fifth International Symposium IEEE International Symposium on Smart and Wireless Systems within the International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems (September 17-18, 2020, Dortmund, Germany), student Yaremchenko E.V. (KNT-120m) made an online report on the topic of «Adaptation of Smart House system for people with special needs based on wireless technologies», for which he received the corresponding Certificate.
As part of the special section on the topic of Erasmus+ projects of the 10th International Scientific and Practical Conference «Modern Problems and Achievements in the Field of Radio Engineering, Telecommunications and Information Technologies» (October 7-9, 2020, Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, conference program), students of the Department of Software Tools prepared the following reports on the topic of the BIOART project:
1) Gunko E.V. (KNT-119m) Recommendation system for improving the quality of life of the elderly.
2) Kushch A.V. (KNT-219m). Quality assessment of medical educational video content on the YouTube platform.
3) Soberzhanska S.Yu. (KNT-219m). Research and software implementation of a bot-consultant for the medical industry.
4) Frolova A.Yu. (KNT-219m) Information technology for designing a virtual prototype of a robotic prosthesis.
As part of the implementation of the BIOART project and the study of the discipline «CAD/CAM/CAE systems» by the teachers of the Department of Software (Assistant Professor Kaminska Zh.K., Assoc. Prof. Parkhomenko A.V.) on November 14, 2020, an online seminar «Modern Additive Manufacturing Technologies» was organized, at which the following reports were presented:
1) Kharchenko A.S. (KNT-120m) Robocasting.
2) Samoilov V.L. (KNT-220m) Production of arbitrary shapes by electron beam melting.
3) Nikolenko D.S. (KNT-210m) Computer axial lithography.
4) Mironenko N.V. (KNT-120m) Multi-jet modeling method.
5) Malyukov M.K. (KNT-120m) Electron beam melting.
6) Kolpakova D. (KNT-120m) Selective laser sintering.
7) Zinenko D.I. (KNT-120m) Stereolithography.
8) Goncharenko D. (KNT-220m) Selective laser melting.
9) Los O.V. (KNT-120m) 3D printing methods (extrusion, wire, powder).
10) Kolesnikov I.V. (KNT-120m) 3D printing methods (jet coating, lamination, photopolymerization).
Students of the Department of Software also actively participated in lectures by teachers from foreign universities within the framework of the International Days on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of polytechnic education in Zaporizhzhia region (November 18-20, 2020), for which they received the corresponding Certificates:
1) Malyukov M.K. (KNT-120m)
2) Yaremchenko E.V. (KNT-120m)
3) Myronenko N.V. (KNT-120m)
4) Laktionov V.V. (KNT-228)
5) Sidorsky V.S. (KNT-228)
6) Tretyakov D.A. (KNT-228)
7) Linets V.A. (KNT-218)
8) Porodko M.Yu. (KNT-218)
9) Ryn P.Yu. (KNT-218)
10) Gorichenko Y.E. (KNT-227)

The project topic is already being implemented in the master’s theses of the department’s students. In particular, student Anastasiia Kushch (KNT-219m) on December 14, 2020 successfully defended her master’s thesis, which is dedicated to filtering medical content on the You Tube platform.
Ahead are broad opportunities for building the department’s potential within the framework of the new international educational project «Cross-domain competences for healthy and safe work in the 21st century» (WORK4CE, reg. number 619034-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, which started on November 15, 2020.
