Titanic work, or how champions prepare
Few people know that basketball is developing rapidly at ZNTU, and our boys and girls play basketball professionally and achieve high results.
Today we want to tell you about the training of the BC «Zaporizhzhia-2» team. That’s where you can see at what level they play.
When many people are resting, athletes are preparing for the new season. On August 26, the training camp of the BC «Zaporizhzhia-2» team began, where 16 players were called. The team is coached by Bolshakova Viktoriya Yuriivna (known as the coach of women’s clubs in the Ukrainian championship) and Viktorov Kyrylo Viktorovich (one of the coaches of the Youth Sports School No. 12).
Basketball players train twice a day. You can imagine that the guys spend almost 30 hours a week training. Almost all of them do not give themselves a break even on Sundays – they visit the gym.
The team has its own peculiarities in terms of training. First, early in the morning, they perform the Cooper test (3 km in 12 minutes), then – exercises for explosive strength (jumps, short sprints between chips, exercises for footwork, etc.).
Then, after a few hours of rest – the second training in the basketball hall, where the coach develops not only teamwork, tactics, various combinations, moments of future games, but also helps everyone hone their personal skills, improve their shooting, defensive actions, dribbling, passes to the basket, dunks, block shots, etc.
For a couple of weeks now, Bolshakova’s subordinates have been working in the hall almost without rest: everyone is fighting for a place under the sun – Everyone wants to get into the main squad, because the coaches will submit an application, where not everyone will get.
For basketball experts and fans, we can add that the club «Zaporizhzhia-2» is reaching a new level. Fans will be able to see completely new combinations, rotation (the management seeks to involve new players, students of the Youth Sports School No. 12). Also, the training sessions are attended by students of «Mashinka», namely: Serhiy Myasoyedov aka Komar, Oleksandr Bartolomeyev, Vladislav Shanin, who are champions of the student league of Ukraine.
We want the stands to be full of support, and ZNTU students to go to the club’s games. Basketball – this is an amazing game that almost everyone will like.
We wish BC «Zaporizhzhia-2» good luck and we will support ZNTU students who play there, and in general – the entire team of our city.
