The Third International Scientific Seminar «Computer Modeling and Intelligent Systems» (CMIS-2020), dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University

The Department of Software of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University University held the Third International Seminar «Computer Modeling and Intelligent Systems» (CMIS-2020), dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, from April 27 to May 1, 2020. This is the only scientific seminar at the university, the works of which are indexed in the scientometric databases Scopus and DBLP. Among the members of the program committee and authors of the submitted papers of CMIS-2020 were scientists from Belarus, Belgium, Indonesia, Spain, China, Germany, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, USA, Ukraine and the Czech Republic.

The International Program Committee of the seminar received 177 articles (in 2019 – 130 articles) by 461 authors for publication. Among the authors who submitted articles, 136 are doctors of sciences, professors, 218 are doctors of philosophy or candidates of sciences, associate professors. Indicators of authors of submitted papers: maximum number of publications in the Scopus database per author – 196, average number of publications in the Scopus database per author – 15.6, number of authors with more than four publications in Scopus – 146, number of authors with more than four publications in the DBLP database – 29.

Statistics of submitted papers: minimum number of authors per submitted article – 1, average number of authors per submitted article – 3.35, maximum number of authors per submitted article – 6, minimum number of authors per submitted article – 1, average number of authors per submitted article – 1.67, maximum number of articles submitted by one author – 9.

All articles submitted to CMIS-2020 were reviewed by the editor, members of the program committee, and independent reviewers. Requests for review were sent – 936 (100%), number of reviews received – 564 (60.3%), number of rejections – 372 (39.7%), average number of review requests per submitted article – 5.3, average number of reviews received per article – 3.2. Distribution of reviews (564 – 100%): accept the article for publication – 356 (63.1%), marginal article – 90 (16%), reject publication – 118 (22.9%). Number of reviewers who participated in reviewing the articles – 181, average number of requests for review – 5.2, average number of reviews received per reviewer – 3.1, number of articles accepted based on review results – 88, proportion of successful submissions (accepted articles among submitted ones) – 49.7% (1:1.01). Number of articles published in the seminar proceedings – 83 (in 2019 – 81). Total ratio of accepted articles to the total number received – 47% (in 2019 – 62%).

Due to the coronavirus epidemic in 2020, the seminar was held remotely. But, as always, participation and publication of articles were free for seminar participants.
