Training "First aid skills in emergency situations"
The founders of the British non-profit organization “Casus Pax”, volunteers Adam McQuire and Holly Tann conducted the “Emergency First Aid Skills” training.
The class was attended by scientific and pedagogical staff of various faculties of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic University and Zaporizhzhya Humanitarian Vocational College.
The main goal of the training was to help participants acquire skills that save lives today. First, they took part in the discussion together:
– figured out how to act in extreme conditions in the first 30 minutes – this time is critically important for saving the lives of victims before the arrival of paramedics or the provision of qualified medical assistance
– remembered the types of bleeding
– studied the features of tourniquets, as well as the first aid algorithm for airway obstruction
And then – a lot of practice: they learned how to apply tourniquets, bandages and use a hemostatic agent.
The minimum first aid kit should be with you: at least one high-quality tourniquet, hemostatic agent, bandage, gloves and scissors. In Zaporizhzhia, as in a front-line city, it is vital to be ready to act and have the appropriate equipment.
Thank you all for your active participation! Your willingness can save someone’s life!
