Modern approaches and teaching tools — in the educational process of ZNTU!
On October 15, 2015, according to the DESIRE project «Development of embedded systems courses using innovative virtual approaches for the integration of science, education and industry in Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia», a solemn Ceremony of the opening of the embedded systems and virtual engineering laboratory took place. With congratulating the participants of the event, the rector of ZNTU, prof. S. Belikov, project coordinator Dirk Van Merode, vice-rector for scientific activity Yu. Vnukov, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work and issues of university development prospects D. Pisa and others.
The created laboratory is equipped with modern equipment for teaching embedded systems – laboratory server, computers, various hardware and software platforms (Arduino, Altera Cyclone, Raspberry Pi), robotics training platforms Formula Flowcode Buggy, 3D printer Leapfrog Creatr HS, 3D scanner Gotcha, remotely controlled GOLDI experiments.
Guests from the Noosphere IT company (Yu. Pikalov, T. Bulanaya, Yu. Vdovichenko, N. Piantkovska) talked about the prospects of creating an engineering school for robotics and electronics on the basis of ZNTU, as well as about the experience of such a project at Dnipropetrovsk National University.
For two days on October 15-16, representatives of partner universities in Belgium held the following master classes:
– on using the Creo system as a tool for virtual prototyping (Petro Arras, University of Leuven, Belgium);
– from courses developed at Thomas More College. Introduction to ECAD. Basics of VHDL (Dirk Van Merode, TMMA, Belgium).
In order to develop the Distance Learning System of ZNTU, our colleagues from Kyiv University named after On October 15, Borys Grinchenko was given intensive training on the use of the Moodle system in the preparation of training courses. Representatives of most departments and faculties of the university took an active part in the work. For the successful and timely (by December 1, 2015) creation of electronic courses in the Distance Learning System of ZNTU, the issuance of the relevant Certificates is provided.
Since September 2015, pilot training on embedded systems has started in all universities of the project consortium. Lecturers of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University (Prof. G.
