ZNTU students are winners of the Football Cup among universities I-IV

From September 10 to 12, the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Cup football tournament among educational institutions of I-IV levels of accreditation was held at the Lokomotiv stadium. 5 teams took part in the competition: the team of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University, the team of the Zaporizhzhia National University, the team of the Classical Private University, as well as the teams of ZNTU colleges – the Zaporizhzhia Electrotechnical College and the Zaporizhzhia Humanitarian College.

We would like to proudly note that the football players of ZNTU not only fought worthily for the right to be called the best in the region, but also really showed themselves in all their glory! During the tournament, they did not lose a single match, moreover, they did not concede a single goal! Our boys finished the semi-final confrontation with the ZNU team with a score of 3:0, and in the final they won the victory over the KPU national team – 1:0. It should also be said that our students, unlike their opponents, had experience playing mini-football. In contrast to them, the national team of ZNU has been preparing football players for the big field for a long time, and the KPU team is generally the silver medalist of the championship of Ukraine in big football among university students in 2013-2014. That is, the students of «Mashinka» exceeded all expectations and became a real unexpected opening of the season! In our team, the goalkeeper Illia Telenkov (UFKS), as well as the top scorer Kebba Kanyi (ETF) and Maksym Pedak (GPF), who scored the decisive goal in the final, were especially distinguished.

Representatives of the Zaporizhzhia regional branch (branch) of the Committee on Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine solemnly presented the winners with the Cup and awarded certificates and medals.

The trade union committee of ZNTU students also congratulated the winners.
