ZNTU students successfully completed an internship at the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine!
The Center for Employment Assistance for Students and Graduates of ZNTU successfully continues to provide excellent opportunities for self-realization to our youth! For example, in the summer, the «Mashinkivtsi» went to Kyiv on a difficult visit!
We talked to the Center’s Category I specialist Svitlana Olefir: «In June, we announced the possibility of our students completing an internship at the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine within the framework of the Icebreakers wanted for the Government project. The selection of candidates was carried out based on a package of documents: resume + motivational essay. Three of our students were selected: Vodopyan Bohdan (FRET), Bogomaz Tetyana (FMTU) and Yevhen Yeremin (MF). This is the first time that the Ministry has taken not only students from Kyiv universities. Specialists of the ZNTU Employment Assistance Center helped students with the preparation of resumes and essays. And I would like to note that our ex-head Anastasiia Ignashova put maximum effort into the project, in particular, her merit was that the students were provided with free accommodation in Kyiv for the entire period of the internship. The curators of our students were Garik Korogodsky – a businessman known for the project «Generation.ua» (Program for training future top management of Ukraine), and Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Shulmeister».
After the internship, our student participants shared their emotions from an unforgettable trip!
Tetyana: «A sea of impressions! The first thing that caught my eye – This is the good attitude towards us from the Ministry employees, the desire to help us in everything and literally communicating on the «you» level. The people from the team are very cheerful, so the internship flew by unnoticed.
It was a new life experience, working with real numbers, which is quite interesting. It was also inspiring to see the results of our work directly. We worked in the field of state procurement, with the Prozorro electronic bidding system and the Smarttender trading platform. We analyzed and monitored tenders of state-owned enterprises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and identified corruption schemes.
A positive effect of our work was observed, in connection with which all project participants were offered jobs upon completion of their studies at a university.
I want to tell everyone that this is a huge experience, vivid impressions and a springboard for the future, so you should not be afraid of difficulties, you need to act».
Bohdan: «Without a doubt, the internship at the Ministry left only positive impressions. There were 25 students in total. The Ministry provided us (from Zaporizhzhia) with housing for the entire period of the internship. On the first day, the minister with his team and representatives of «Generation UA» gathered us in the conference room, jointly defining the goal of each direction (team). There were 3 teams of students in total: lawyers, financiers and public procurement. My direction was the direction of public procurement. Our team was engaged in the analysis of public tenders, which are held under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure. The task was to generate reports on the work of enterprises on electronic platforms, which included price monitoring, checking for violations of the regulations in conducting tenders, identifying suspicious actions, etc. In addition, we were engaged in the development of ideas and recommendations, the implementation of which will help make public tenders even more open and significantly reduce the number of frauds in conducting tenders.
The internship helped to hone teamwork skills, a creative approach to solving problems, the ability to analyze a large amount of information and present it in a form accessible to the majority.
I recommend that students, in addition to the university curriculum, engage in various types of self-education and search for places for self-realization, be interested in everything where you can express yourself and gain some experience».
As a result of our good conversation, I would like to say: grab the unrivaled opportunities that our university provides to students, because we are certainly worthy of success!
