Students and teachers of the Institute of Management and Law of Zaporizhzhia National Technical University participated in a two-day training on the development of organizational competencies (Capacity Building)
The training took place on March 12-13, 2019 at Zaporizhzhia National Technical University as part of the implementation of the international project «Program for the Restoration of Peace and Dialogue for Internally Displaced Women »A Woman’s Voice Has Power« with the support of the Institute for International Cultural Relations (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Training expert – Chairman of the Board of the NGO »Human Rights Foundation« Yevhen Fomin – taught participants the basics of project and blogging activities, planning and organizing teamwork, and writing reasoned appeals to authorities. The theoretical knowledge gained during the training was consolidated by the game »Berlin Wall”. Each team was supposed to use video blogs and written appeals to influence local authorities to positively resolve problematic issues of the city’s life and protect the rights of certain categories of the population. In addition, team representatives were required to come to an impromptu personal reception with the mayor, the result of which was to resolve the problematic issue they had stated. Students also developed a Strategic Action Program for 2019-2020. regarding the implementation of the project in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Summing up the training, all its participants spoke about the positive and negative aspects of the problem-solving strategies developed by the teams or explained the reasons for their absence.
Training participants – students and teachers of the specialties «Law», «Journalism» and «Psychology» – came to the conclusion that it is by combining their professional capabilities and abilities that it is possible to effectively influence the authorities and effectively solve any socio-legal problem in society, including the current problems of internally displaced persons.
