Students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University presented architectural projects within the framework of Urban Lab!
The final event of the project «Urban Lab: Your Urban Design Laboratory» symbolically took place on July 1, the Day of Architecture of Ukraine. Students of the Department of Design, as well as the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, who participated in the practice, joined the 2nd stage of the project. They presented the results of almost a month of work on concepts for revitalizing urban spaces.
During June 8–28, participants participated in a rich educational program: they mastered the QGIS geographic information system, improved their architectural visualization skills, participated in master classes on preparing professional presentations, and attended a lecture by the famous Polish architect and urbanist Hubert Trammer.
The students performed architectural measurements of the object, conducted sociological surveys of residents, analyzed the features of the territory, and based on the collected materials, developed concepts for its revitalization. The main idea was to transform neglected urban spaces into modern, comfortable and functional locations for the community.
During the final event, participants presented research results, conceptual solutions and architectural projects, which received professional assessment by experts and became the basis for further development of the urban environment.
The first team was represented by Oleksandra Yakovleva (BAD–815), the chief architect of the project, Kseniia Tytova (BAD–813), Sofiia Tytova (BAD–813) and Alina Deshko (BAD–815). The second team was led by Liliya Rudenko (BAD–813), the chief architect of the project. It included Oleksandr, Darya Shklyaeva (BAD–813) and Yaroslava Yarmolovich (BAD–813).
