Internship abroad
Associate Professor of the Department of Software Tools Tabunshchyk Galyna Volodymyrivna successfully completed a scientific and pedagogical internship in the field of E-learning, remote engineering and virtual tools at the Technical University of Ilmenau (Germany).
The internship was organized within the framework of the budget program 2201250 «Education, internship, advanced training of students, postgraduates, scientific and pedagogical and pedagogical workers abroad». Tabunshchyk G.V. was selected by the decision of the competition committee (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 12.07.2013 No. 965) to undergo an internship in order to improve the level of theoretical and practical training at the Technical University of Ilmenau (Germany) in the field of: «Informatics and computing, in particular computer science and computing, software engineering and systems software», with a total internship period of October 1 – December 20, 2013.
The Technical University of Ilmenau is one of the youngest universities in Germany, but is in the top ten universities in the ranking of information systems and control systems. The internship took place at the Department of Integrated Communication Systems (Integrated Communication Systems Group). The main areas of research carried out by the researchers of the department: Self-organization in mobile communication systems; Cognitive radio network; Management in mobile technologies and quality of services (Quality-of-Service); UAV-based communication platforms; Interaction in Smart Grid; HW/SW systems and testing methods; E-Learning and remote engineering. The laboratories and research results of the Department of Integrated Communication Systems are part of the International Graduate School on Mobile Communications and are aimed at supporting two international master’s programs at the university:
- Master of Science in Communications and Signal Processing (MSCSP): The program is designed for international students with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or information technology. The program aims to prepare students for a doctoral program in mobile communications. The program is taught entirely in English and does not require any knowledge of German.
- Master of Science in Research in Computer and Systems Engineering (RCSE): The program is designed for international students with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering. The program aims to prepare students for our doctoral program in mobile communications. To support this, the core parts of the program consist of individual research projects and seminars. The program is taught entirely in English and does not require knowledge of German.
During her internship, Halyna Volodymyrivna
- attended the defense of diploma projects for the degree of Bachelor, Master, and the defense of a dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences (Dr.Ing);
- attended the annual job fair held at the university to help students find a place for an internship, temporary work or permanent work after graduation;
- acquainted herself with the experimental project «Basic Engineering School», which is aimed at providing students with practical implementation of the knowledge they gain during their studies at the university. The project has been in existence for three years, and every year it attracts more and more students. The practical result of the project is a developed mobile robot after the completion of the first year of study.
- I got acquainted with the developments of the department in the field of virtual and distance learning tools;
- A cooperation agreement was signed between the Faculty of Computer Science and Automation of the Ilmenau Technical University and the Institute of Informatics and Radioelectronics of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University, according to which joint research in the field of automated systems, e-learning and remote engineering is planned.
We wish Halyna Volodymyrivna further success in implementing European experience and internship results in the process of training bachelors, specialists and masters of the Department of Software.
