Internship of teachers of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University at Danube University Krems (Austria)
From 2019, a new multidisciplinary specialty «Telemedical and biomedical systems» is opening at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University with the support of the Erasmus + KA2 international project «Innovative Multidisciplinary Curriculum in Artificial Implants for Bio-Engineering BSc/MSc Degrees» (BIOART, reg. no. 586114-EPP-1-2017-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP).
Teachers are trained at European universities – Polytechnic University of Madrid, Krakow Technical University, Danube University Krems (Austria) and Catholic University of Leuven.
From June 2 to June 8, teachers of the university, doctor of science, professor, head of the department of sketch geometry, engineering and computer graphics V.A. Shalomeev and Ph.D. and associate professor, professor of the department of software G.V. Tabunshchik, together with teachers from partner universities in Ukraine and Israel, completed an internship at the Danube University Krems (Austria).
Learning in biomechanics, modern trends in regenerative medicine, biosensors, machine learning, 3D printing, etc. was held on two campuses – in Krems and Wiener Neustadt. Educational visits were organized to the laboratories of biomechanics, the laboratory of bio-optics, the laboratory of biomedical equipment and biomedical 3D printing.
A separate day was dedicated to innovation and business incubator. The pre-incubator operating at the Wiener Neustadt campus was presented. Visiting the companies Empulsion, AIT (Austrian Institute of Technologies) and ACMIT (Austrian Center for Medical Innovation and Technologies) allowed not only to get acquainted with modern achievements in bioengineering, but also to adopt the experience of effective cooperation between universities and business.
During the internship, an external quality assessment of the obtained results and implemented project processes was conducted, and meetings were held regarding readiness for pilot training, at which representatives of partner universities presented educational and methodological materials for new and modified courses.
