ZNTU cooperation with Brno Technical University
On December 8-10, 2015, with the support of the international project «Centers of Excellence for young RESearchers» CERES («Centers of Excellence for young RESearchers», registration number 544137-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-SK-TEMPUS-JPHES) of the «Tempus» program of the European Commission, a visit of representatives of the National Technical University of Ukraine took place. S. O. Subbotin and associate professor, Ph.D. A.O. Olijnyk to the Technical University of Brno (TUB) (Czech Republic, Brno).
The purpose of the visit was to participate in a meeting regarding the implementation of the CERES project. The participants of the meeting discussed urgent issues related to the implementation of the project in the European Union and Ukraine, exchanged experience regarding the organization of scientific activities of young scientists, and also assessed the effectiveness of the implementation of the CERES project and the prospects for its further implementation.
Coordinator of the CERES project at TUB, Dr. M. Drakhanskyi familiarized the participants with the material and technical base and laboratories of the Department of Intelligent Systems of the Faculty of Information Technologies. He reported on the scientific research of young scientists of the faculty related to the development and implementation of intelligent sensors, biomedical systems, software and hardware for image recognition and signal processing, face recognition, voice recognition, dactyloscopy in biometrics.
Professor S.O. Subbotin and Associate Professor A.O. Oliynyk gave presentations on the progress of the project, reported on the activities of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ZNTU, cooperation of ZNTU with industrial enterprises of the region.
The participants of the meeting listened to lectures about the place and role of young researchers in the modern European education system, took part in a discussion about the progress of the CERES project, outlined the tasks for the near future, had the opportunity to work in the university library, as well as with the material and technical base of the Faculty of Information Technologies of TUB. The representatives of TUB spoke about the ways of attracting young scientists to work on real projects of enterprises of the Czech region.
At the meeting of representatives of the Czech Republic and Ukraine, the expediency was noted and an action plan was developed regarding the organization of joint training of Ukrainian graduate students (PhD students) and master’s students at the Technical University of Brno at the expense of the European Commission’s Erasmus+ program and Czech national funds.
The cultural program included a visit to the Technical Museum in Brno, which presents a large number of exhibits reflecting the development of science and technology from ancient times to the present day.
According to the results of the meeting, its participants received internship certificates, agreed on future cooperation and project implementation measures.
