«The East is a delicate matter…»
What do we associate the east with? Mysticism, spices, attractive motifs, stained glass and camels. The East beckons with its mystery and wealth. But, unfortunately, not everyone can afford to see the luxury of the east with their own eyes. Therefore, the students of the Physical and Technical Institute brought the east to ZNTU.
As you probably already understood, on April 11, another student spring was held in the assembly hall of ZNTU, this time for the electrical engineering and engineering-physics faculties. The creative team of FTI recreated the well-known and beloved story of Aladdin from the Disney cartoon. The funny and slightly silly Genie fulfilled Aladdin’s wishes, saved Princess Jasmine from the treacherous Jafar. And all this was accompanied by interesting and stunning numbers. Boys and girls danced, sang, threw weights, held aikido competitions, accompanied themselves with glasses, told funny and touching stories, read poems and other things. The international choir of students deserves special attention, which broke off a flurry of applause from the hall. And the phrase «I pushed my ego on a camel» will probably go down in history. In general, the staff of the institute showed skill in combining and «fitting» a room of any capacity into the conference. And the conference itself was not just an announcement of numbers, but a real oriental fairy tale. Even the Ukrainian numbers (folk dance, folk song, ceremony) fit very well into the concept of the concert.
It should be said separately about the film, which, in my opinion, realized the secret dreams of most students – to find a magic lamp and ask Khotabych for whatever they want. Although I would imagine, along with the affection of fellow students, the end of all sessions, exams, tests and the like. That is, so that the knowledge itself jumps into the head. And seriously, the film was really interesting and exciting, and in addition to the entertainment function, it also served an educational function – sometimes, it is more important to please others than yourself.
And finally, it was the penultimate student spring. The FTI team coped with its task 100 percent and the audience left satisfied and charged with positivity for the whole weekend. And if you were not there last Friday in the assembly hall of ZNTU, then seize the moment and hurry to get a ticket for the next concert, because in two weeks the student spring 2014 season will be over.
