«School of counselors» is waiting for you!
This article is dedicated to the presentation held the other day, the topic of which was training at the «Counselor School», with the subsequent opportunity to master the position of a counselor in the network of Terra Unique development camps.
This network includes such well-known camps as: «i&Camp» – a camp in the style of VAU (opening year: 2012); «Kakadu» is an active adventure camp. (year of opening: 2008); «Tangerine» is a camp in the style of a show (year of opening: 2006).
At the presentation, we were told about the advantages of these camps, about an innovative approach to the children themselves and to the training of counselors to best ensure mutual understanding between them. The main advantage of Terra Unique organizations is a combination of freedom, development and comfort.
Information directly about the «School of Counselors» and employment conditions was also presented. Education at the school begins on March 31, 2014. It will be held 2 times a week for 2 weeks. The venue is the Student Self-Government Center in ZNTU dormitory #4. Completion of the «Counselor School» includes 3 stages: selection round, training, exam. Work in the camps begins on May 28, and the first arrival arrives already on May 31. The duration of one check-in is 17 days. The total number of runs is 5.
In addition, we learned about the features and uniqueness of the Terra Unique camp network. They are illustrated by the quote: «Children’s camps of the New Generation are camps of free choice! You have the right to rest as you wish, but freedom always has limits, and we have it limited by some laws: 1. You can’t drink alcoholic beverages and smoke! 2. It is not allowed to leave the territory of the camp! 3. Do not disturb the rest of others! 4. Do not damage other people’s property! 5. You are free, but your choice predicts the future scenario of your life.»
The philosophy of these camps is based on conveying to the child that he is free. But at the same time, children are taught to understand it correctly, because any freedom has its limits. But borders are not obstacles that need to be overcome, but a landmark that indicates the limits of a comfortable existence. Therefore, freedom is always a contract. Children can wake up when they have slept, eat what they choose, do what they decided themselves, swim in the sea or the pool. Based on this, the child must set priorities: sleep longer or get up earlier, but at the same time have time for breakfast. And for such incentives, the child is obliged not to violate discipline and not to leave the territory of the camp. In these camps, a new approach to the treatment of children has been implemented: «In our camps, a fundamentally new approach to the organization of children’s recreation, where children are the main customers, and each child is a free individual.»
I would also like to talk about each camp separately.
«i&Camp» is a state-of-the-art international youth center, opened in 2012. This is the only children’s camp in the world that combines so many unique elements necessary for a child’s complete rest. Children from the age of 10 can rest in «i&Camp».
«Mandarin» is the best children’s camp in Crimea according to the results of 2011. Children’s camp for those who like to have a bright and rich vacation. Children from 7 to 16 years old can rest in «Mandarin».
«Kakadu» is the best children’s camp in Yevpatoria according to the results of 2011, 2012 and 2013. The organized territory of the camp has all the possibilities for the comprehensive development of the child.
Summing up, the organizers of the presentation offered to try yourself in the interesting role of a counselor in one of the unique children’s recreation camps, thereby gaining tremendous experience from communicating with children and learning to find a way out of all kinds of life situations in relation to the same communication.
