Regarding the improvement of the quality of training of specialists for the IT industry

Regarding the improvement of the quality of training
specialists for the IT industry
In accordance with the instructions of the Prime Minister of Ukraine M.Ya. Azarov, based on the results of the meeting on February 15, 2012 on improving the quality of training specialists in the field of information technologies with rectors of leading higher educational institutions and heads of companies working in this field, the Ministry recommends:
- to develop and implement in higher educational institutions in the areas (specialties) of training IT specialists programs for in-depth study of the English language, taking into account the chosen specialty;
- to include in the curricula of the areas (specialties) of the field of knowledge 0501 «Informatics and Computer Engineering» as separate disciplines «Fundamentals of Marketing» and «Fundamentals of Patent Law» at the expense of hours of the cycle of independent choice of the educational institution or as a substantive module of disciplines of economic and legal directions;
- to improve the legal training of IT specialists by increasing the number of hours per study of relevant legal disciplines or their substantive modules;
- review the content of regulatory disciplines taught in the training of specialists in the field of knowledge 0501 «Informatics and computing» in accordance with modern achievements in the development of information technologies.
The recommended measures should be carried out at the expense of the hours of the cycle of disciplines of independent choice of the educational institution.
The Ministry also recommends taking measures to increase the level of practical training of students with the involvement of employers in its organization by introducing various forms of internships for students in IT companies and developing and implementing adaptation programs for graduates of higher educational institutions in production.
