Seminar «Methods of distance (electronic) learning in education»
On October 27, 2014, within the framework of the TEMPUS project DESIRE «Development of courses on embedded systems using innovative virtual approaches for the integration of science, education and industry in Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia», a seminar «Methods of distance (electronic) learning in education» was held.
The event was attended by teachers of the departments of software, computer systems and networks, information security, postgraduate students, master’s students, as well as guests. Presentations by associate professors of the department of software Tabunshchyk G.V. and Parkhomenko A.V. were developed with the participation of Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Information Technologies of the Donbass Machine-Building Academy Tarasov O.F. based on the materials of the summer school «New pedagogical approaches in teaching engineering disciplines», which took place in September 2014 at the University of Constantine the Philosopher (Nitra, Slovakia).
The main objectives of the seminar were the following:
- to disseminate knowledge about e-learning methods in education;
- to exchange views on the feasibility of using e-learning in education;
- to create a model for implementing e-learning methods using virtual and remote tools.
The following issues were considered and discussed at the seminar:
- types (forms) of modern education;
- advantages and disadvantages of traditional education;
- methods of e-learning in education;
- organization of different phases of classes using information and communication technologies;
- use of the Moodle e-learning system at ZNTU;
- use of virtual and remote laboratories in education;
- introduction of a remote access laboratory into the educational process of ZNTU.
The presented reports aroused interest and lively discussion. Those present came to the unanimous conclusion that the introduction of new pedagogical approaches in teaching engineering disciplines at ZNTU will contribute to improving the quality of training specialists needed by the Ukrainian labor market today.
