Implementation of the CERES international project on the training of young scientists
On October 12-14, 2015, the second working and fourth coordination meetings of the teams implementing the CERES international project («Centers of Excellence for young RESearchers», «Centers of excellence for young scientists», registration number 544137-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-SK-TEMPUS-JPHES) of the European Commission’s «Tempus» program were held in Kyiv.
The meeting was opened by the rector of the National Transport University M. Dmytrychenko and the project coordinator, vice-rector of the Žilina University of Information Systems (Žilina, Slovakia) Prof. K. Matiashko, Doctor of Philosophy, with welcoming words to the project participants. Representatives of Belarus, Germany, Slovakia and Ukraine took part in the meeting.
The participants of the meeting considered urgent issues related to the implementation of the project. At the meeting, the general concept of involving young scientists and employees of universities and industrial enterprises in scientific activities was developed and discussed, in particular with the use of the virtual CERES portal developed during the implementation of the project. On the created CERES portal, it is planned to open a «catalog of orders» from industrial enterprises, the solutions of which young scientists will be able to undertake in their research. The joint work of local and international groups of young scientists will be organized through the portal. Students and scientists from related fields of knowledge will be able to work on one project. According to a similar scenario, groups will be built to solve more complex scientific tasks. The teams participating in the meeting also discussed issues of dissemination of the results and attended training seminars.
A joint meeting of CERES and FKTBUM project teams was also organized within the framework of the meeting, in which representatives of Belarus, Latvia, Germany, Moldova, Slovakia and Ukraine participated. The meeting was opened by the rector of the National Transport University M. Dmytrychenko and the rector of the Zhilin University, prof. T. Choreiova.
Representatives of partner universities gave presentations on the progress of the project. The presentation of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University (ZNTU) was prepared by Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences. S. O. Subbotin and associate professor, Ph.D. A. O. Oliinikom. The presentation highlighted the activity of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ZNTU, cooperation of ZNTU with industrial enterprises of the region, as well as the progress of project implementation at ZNTU.
At the meeting, the effectiveness of the CERES project was also evaluated. In particular, Prof. S. O. Subbotin was asked to strengthen joint dissemination activity through the interaction of project teams with national Erasmus+/Tempus offices and other mass media at the national level with the aim of wider dissemination of project results.
Participants of the event visited the laboratories of the National Transport University and got acquainted with the experience of working with young scientists of the Transport University. An on-site meeting was also organized at the state enterprise «State Road Research Institute named after M.P. Shulgin», where a tour was conducted and areas of possible cooperation were discussed.
According to the results of the meeting, its participants received certificates on the training of CERES managers, and agreed on future measures to implement the project.
