We are proud of our athletes!

This year, the ardent football players of our university once again came together in a desperate fight for the «Autumn Campus Cup 2013». 6 teams representing the dormitories of Zaporizhzhia National Technical University participated in the mini-football competition, namely «Zbrod», «Titan», «BMS», «Africa», «Cherezos» and «Zolotaya devyatka».

From October 8 to 10, a lightning-fast group stage lasted, which was most memorable to the audience thanks to the match «Titan» – «Zbrod». This match can rightfully be considered the most striking, as it includes the most beautiful goals of this student football season. It ended with a total score of «5:0» in favor of «Titan».

And on October 11, the final of the «Autumn Campus Cup» took place, where, of course, the strongest teams got to: «Titan» and «BMS». A tense atmosphere reigned throughout the match. The eyes of those present did not take their eyes off the players on the field for a minute. The score remained equal throughout the first half: «0:0». And only at the end of the second half, «Titan» player Anton Pototskyi scored a lightning goal, which ensured victory for his team.

We spoke with the initiator and main organizer of the «Campus Cup» Ivan Dashko, head of the student council of dormitory No. 4 of ZNTU: "We are holding this tournament for the second time. Only last year, the teams played according to the «play off» scheme, and in this one – there was a group stage with access to the final. And this time the competition turned out to be much more interesting, because participation in the final depended not only on victory, but also on the number of goals. That is, everyone had a chance. I would like to thank the ZNTU students’ trade union for supporting the initiative, the department of physical training for providing sports equipment and qualified refereeing, as well as my assistant Yevhen Sokol, whom I would even call the «Minister of Culture and Sports of the 4th dormitory», and our photographer Anastasiia Martyuk.

The participants of the final were awarded with honorary certificates and valuable prizes, and the winners also received a symbolic half-meter cup. The award was also received by the best scorer of the «Autumn Cup of the Campus 2013», a player of the «BMS» team, Volodymyr Mishchenko, who scored three beautiful goals during the entire tournament. So, we join all the congratulations and wish our athletes success and new victories!
