The progressive debut of the team of students of the EPA department in the All-Ukrainian Olympiad «Mechanotronics in Mechanical Engineering»
November 19-24, 2018 NTUU «KPI named after I. Sikorsky» held the 10th All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad «Mechanotronics in Mechanical Engineering», in which 17 teams (about 60 students) from 15 universities of Ukraine took part.
The Olympiad was held in the form of student team competitions and individual competition. Students receive assignments, choose equipment, develop schemes, compile algorithms, assemble and adjust mechanotronic systems of industrial automation and present them to a jury.
Within the Olympiad, students first trained on the equipment used to solve Olympiad tasks, then 2 days of team competitions (5 tasks of 1.5 hours each) and 2 days of individual competitions.
The importance of such events is emphasized by the attention given to the Olympiad by leading automation equipment manufacturers, such as Festo, which provide new developments for student competitions. The All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad «Mechanotronics in Mechanical Engineering» is equipped with special equipment from Festo.
ZNTU was represented by a team of students from the EPA Department in the following composition:

– Goncharov Dmytro Viktorovych, gr.E-326sp

According to the terms of the Olympics, the winners are the teams that occupy the first six places in the team standings and are among the top ten in the individual standings.
In the team competitions, the team of the EPA Department of ZNTU was awarded a Diploma for 6th place, in the individual competition, team captain Serhiy Shulzhenko entered the top ten and competed in the super-final.
Taking into account the rather successful results of our team’s first participation in the Olympiad, the general director of SE «Festo» A.M. Kharchenko. presented the team with a Certificate «For a progressive debut», which the team can use to obtain the necessary literature or for the training of one of the team members at Festo.
