Presentation of the book «Oleksandrivsk. Architectural Heritage»

The Museum of the History of Technical Progress of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, together with the Faculty of Construction, Architecture and Design, held a presentation of the book by Tetiana Yenshueva «Oleksandrivsk. Architectural Heritage».

The presentation was opened by Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko. Also participating were the Dean of the Faculty of Construction, Architecture and Design, Olha Babenko, layout artist and book designer Larisa Klimova, Professor of the Department of Design Iryna Ryzhova, Head of the Craft Museums of Zaporizhzhia Mykhailo Mordovsky, teachers of the Faculty of Construction, Architecture and Design and Zaporizhzhia Technical College, as well as students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic.

The author’s first book, «Oleksandrivsk,» was published in 2013. It was an album of drawings of unique buildings of old Oleksandrivsk, built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The purpose of the textbook «Oleksandrivsk. Architectural Heritage» — to introduce future specialists in architecture and design to the architectural heritage of our city, the most interesting buildings built in the 19th–20th centuries. The guide will help students get acquainted with the architecture of the city, find information about the people who invested their strength, money, and talent in its construction, and will provide an opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of old Oleksandrivsk. The material is presented in such a way that students can gradually acquire knowledge by completing independent exercises.
