The right to education
It seems that in our free, democratic state, everyone has the right to higher education. And can everyone use this right?
As everyone knows, many universities were transferred from the area of the anti-terrorist operation in the East of Ukraine, and students from these «universities» were forced to look for related or similar specialties at other universities.
A significant number of temporarily displaced students are now also studying at the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University.
That is why, on April 3, representatives of the All-Ukrainian youth public organization «National Student Union» ( https://vk.com/nss_ukraine ) arrived at ZNTU: the head of the supervisory board – Anatoliy Ignatovych, the head of the department for national and patriotic education – Demid Mayornikov and a representative of the Odesa region regional branch Stanislav Zhitaryuk.
The purpose of their visit was to meet with students who left the ATO zone and Crimean Autonomous Republic.
Thanks to this meeting, informal communication between students and representatives of NSS took place. During the conversation, it was possible to find out the problems that students of this category have both at ZNTU and at other universities.
Also, within the framework of the project «Monitoring the implementation of the right to education by students of higher educational institutions of Donbas», an anonymous survey of students was conducted, which will help to find the most acute problems and ways to solve them.
On my own behalf, I sincerely thank the National Student Union for an extremely useful and pleasant meeting. And I also want to wish you to achieve the goal you have set for yourself!
Galyna Lukash,
Chairman of the social protection commission
trade union committee of students of ZNTU
