Results of the AIST 2017 Spring Training School

From May 8 to 11, 2017, events were held at the Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University (Mykolaiv) within the framework of the international educational project ALIOT «Internet of Things Emerging Curriculum for Industry and Human Application» (573818-ЭПР-1-2016-1-UK-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) under the ERASMUS+ program.

The work began on May 8 with a monitoring mission of the national ERASMUS+ office in Ukraine. The following days saw the AIST 2017 Spring Training School for students, young scientists and teachers, with the participation of representatives of all universities and companies of the consortium:

– Newcastle University, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom;

– Leeds City University, Leeds, United Kingdom;

– M.E. Zhukovsky National Aerospace University «KHAI», Kharkiv, Ukraine;

– Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, Mykolaiv, Ukraine;

– Zaporizhzhia National Technical University, Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine;

– Odessa National Polytechnic University, Odessa, Ukraine;

– Chernivtsi National University Yu. Fedkovych, Chernivtsi, Ukraine;

– Ternopil National Economic University, Ternopil, Ukraine;

– V. Dal East Ukrainian National University, Severodonetsk, Ukraine;

– G.E. Pukhov Institute of Modeling Problems in Energy, Kyiv, Ukraine;

– ITE Association, Kyiv, Ukraine.

According to the program, on May 9 and 11, new courses created according to the project plan were presented, reports, lectures and trainings were held. From ZNTU, presentations of scientific and educational and methodological developments were made by:

– Ravil Kudermetov, Head of the Department of Computer Systems and Networks, «Model-oriented Design of Cyber-Physical Systems»;

– Vadym Shkarupilo, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Systems and Networks, «Modeling of Software-Defined Computer Networks. Current Solutions and Open Problems»;

– Anzhelika Parkhomenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Software, «Engineering of a Software-Hardware Platform for Smart Home Systems»;

– Oleksandr Sokolyansky, Postgraduate Student of the Department of Software, «Development and Application of a Remote Laboratory for the Design of Embedded Systems»;

– Yuliia Sokolova, Student of the KNT-613 «Software-Defined Computer Networks: Past, Present, Future»;

– Dmytro Kravchenko, Student of the KNT-722m «Using Raspberry Pi and OpenHAB platforms to control the Smart House system».

On May 10, 2017, the school participants visited the South Ukrainian Energy Complex ( http://www.sunpp.mkua/ru/news/news_sunpp/5026 ), visited the information center, the station and observation decks of the South Ukrainian NPP and Tashlyk PSP, and inspected the full-scale control panel simulator. During the visit, the station’s specialists told the guests about the structure of the complex of facilities, the automatic control system, safety and environmental protection measures.

At the final meeting on May 11, Professor Vyacheslav Kharchenko of the Kharkiv Institute of Technology and a representative of the grantholder – Newcastle University – Professor Chris Phillips. They also solemnly presented the participants of the Spring School with Certificates.
