Results of the ZNTU sports year

On May 30, the results of the annual ZNTU Spartakiad were summed up in the sports complex of ZNTU, as well as a ceremony awarding athletes, sports teams and their coaches for excellent success in sports.

Spartakiade of ZNTU is held annually in 9 sports among national teams of 10 faculties. Students of the Faculty of Radioelectronics and Telecommunications took 3rd place in a fierce competition. Athletes from the Faculty of Transport became the silver medalists of the Spartakiad of ZNTU with a difference of 1 point. And the winners of the ZNTU Spartakiad in 2017 were the students of the Faculty of Computer Sciences and Technologies! The representatives of the beautiful sport of sports aerobics pleased with their achievements: they became winners of the All-Ukrainian Student Games, the National Championship and the Championship of Ukraine among students, the winners of the Cup of Ukraine, the absolute champions of the 13th Summer Universiade of Ukraine, where they set a record – 36 gold medals in 8 nominations.

The national team has two important matches ahead: the World Games in Poland in Wroclaw in July and the European Championship in Italy in September. The football team of ZNTU was also awarded, which became the prize-winners and winners of the Cup of the Zaporizhzhia region among universities and the prize-winners of the regional championship. Representatives of water sports also pleased with their achievements. The swimmers of «Mashinka» became the winners of the city and regional championships and the prize-winners of the championship of Ukraine among students. It is impossible not to note the achievements of our basketball players: the «Zaporizhzhia» team took 3rd place in the Championship of Ukraine among teams of the first league. The ceremony was closed with the awarding of our handball players, who became the bronze medalists of the Championship of Ukraine among the teams of the Super League in handball. In the fight for bronze awards, our handball players in the play-off series won a convincing victory over a very serious opponent – the CSKA Kyiv team and fulfilled the standards of the Masters of Sports of Ukraine.

Already in June, the best student teams will gather in Sumy to participate in the 13th Summer Universiade of Ukraine. So let’s wish our athletes successful performances and convincing victories!
