The first edition of ZNTU and the Zaporizhzhia region in the scientometric database of Tomson Reuters Web of Science (WoS)

The scientific journal «Radioelectronics, Informatics, Management» (abbreviated as RIU, ISSN 607-3274), published by the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University, was included in the Master Journal List of the Thomson Reuters Web of Science (WoS) database, recognized as the world’s most influential scientometric database: http://science.thomsonreuters.com/cgi-bin/jrnlst/jlresults.cgi?PC=MASTER&Full=Radio%20Electronics%20Computer%20Science%20Control

Today, the RIU magazine is the only one of the publications of ZNTU and the Zaporizhzhia region and one of the few publications in Ukraine that has held such high recognition. This was facilitated by the strengthening of requirements for articles in accordance with the international practice of the world’s leading publishing houses and strict peer review (more than 50% of submitted articles are rejected by the editors at the review stage), as well as the internationalization of the editorial board and the entry of the journal into other scientometric databases and digital libraries and catalogs, in particular IET Inspec, Ulrich’s, EBSCO, VINITI, CrossRef/DOI, e-library.

RIU Journal is an international peer-reviewed academic publication published since 1999 and publishes articles in English, Russian and Ukrainian. The magazine is published four times a year and is included in the list of specialized scientific publications of Ukraine, in which the results of dissertations for obtaining the scientific degrees of doctor and candidate of physical, mathematical and technical sciences can be published. An important feature of the journal is that articles are published and reviewed free of charge for authors, and readers have free online access to full-text publications. The inclusion of the journal in the WoS database will provide the scientists of ZNTU and other universities of Ukraine, who publish articles in the journal, the opportunity to widely distribute their developments in the world, and will also contribute to more active involvement of authors from highly developed countries in the journal.

As foreign and national funds that finance scientific research pay significant attention to the availability of authors of requests for scientific projects for publications in publications indexed in WoS, the entry of the journal «Radioelectronics, Informatics, Management» into this database will significantly increase the opportunities of the authors of the journal to receive international and national grants for conducting scientific research.

Thanks to the fact that the members of the editorial board of the journal participate in the implementation of the international project «Centers of excellence for young scientists» of the Tempus program, financed by the European Union (Ref. No. 544137-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-SK-TEMPUS-JPHES), ZNTU created a training manual by S. O. Subbotin and A. O. Oliinyk “Handbook on the writing, formatting, review, analysis and publication of scientific works The book contains a systematic presentation of material on writing, design, and submission of scientific works for publication in scientific publications, as well as an overview of the standards for design of bibliographic references. The issue of authorial and editorial ethics is considered. The principles of review and analysis of scientific publications are given. Advice is given on the preparation of scientific papers for presentations at public events. The publication is intended for students, post-graduate students and scientific and pedagogical staff of higher educational institutions and research institutions. The use of the study guide will help young authors to prepare articles for publication in the world’s leading scientific publications, in particular in the RIU journal.
