Mechatronics victory at «WORLDSKILLS UKRAINE»
WORLDSKILLS INTERNATIONAL – is an international non-profit association, in which 74 countries participate. To date, this is the largest competition of its kind in the world. In 2016, Ukraine officially became a member of the international organization WORLDSKILLS INTERNATIONAL.
The mission of the competition – is the professional orientation of young people, as well as the introduction of the best international developments into the system of domestic vocational and higher education.
The competition is held in the form of a professional skills competition, where the participant must demonstrate all his skills in a certain amount of time, and complete a number of practical tasks. Well-known experts and leading specialists in their professional field from domestic employers are involved as a jury. The competition is held with the support of employers, vocational and higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
On October 6-9, 2020, the final stage of the All-Ukrainian competition of professional skills «WORLDSKILLS UKRAINE» in the competence «Mechatronics» was held. at NTU «Dnipro Polytechnic».
NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» was represented by the team of the Department of Electric Drive and Automation of Industrial Installations (EPA) in the following composition:
Shulzhenko Serhiy Serhiyovych, postgraduate student,
Oleynikov Mykola Oleksandrovich, student of the E-319m group.

Osadchy Volodymyr Volodymyrovych, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the EPA Department,
Nazarova Olena Serhiyivna, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of EPA.
This year, the contestants had to perform an element base analysis and troubleshooting at the gantry robot station and program the mechatronic workpiece sorting line of the company «FESTO».
Thanks to the determination, perseverance, self-organization of the team members and coaches in preparing for the Olympiad, despite the lack of equipment at the department and the university that was necessary to work with during the competition, the team of the EPA Department of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University» knowledge, skills in solving production problems and experience working with real modern industrial equipment.
