Partnership for the future: Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University and Science Hub join forces
Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University and the municipal institution «Zaporizhzhia Regional Center for Extracurricular Education »Small Academy of Sciences of Student Youth «Science Hub»« of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document was signed by the rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Greshta and the director of Science Hub Pavlo Dolgoruky.
The partnership involves the implementation of joint educational and scientific projects, support for STEM education, involvement of schoolchildren in research activities, popularization of science and modern technologies, as well as the creation of new opportunities for professional self-determination of young people.
Today, the Small Academy of Sciences unites scientific and technical, ecological and naturalistic, tourist and local history, artistic and aesthetic, and research and experimental. Such multi-vector nature creates broad opportunities for the development of abilities, self-realization and the formation of competencies necessary for young people for the future.
The new partnership already has a solid foundation thanks to the activities of the Children and Youth Scientific University of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, headed by Director Olena Nazarova – the involvement of associate professors of the university in the jury of the professional skills competition »WorldSkills« in the competence »Mobile Robotics”, as well as the participation of the university’s teaching staff in the work of the MAAS.
The greatest effect for youth development is not the work of each educational level separately, but the creation of a holistic ecosystem of cooperation «school – extracurricular – university – business.» It is this interaction that allows us to build a continuous trajectory of a child’s development: from the first interest in science and technology at school – through practical projects and research outside of school – to professional training at the university and the further implementation of a young specialist in the economy of the region.
Combining the efforts of educators, scientists, institutions of extracurricular education and business representatives is an investment not only in education, but also in preserving and increasing the human potential of the Zaporizhzhia region.
