Armed, but harmless!
On May 20, students and teachers of our «Mashinka» in the afternoon could observe an amazing, or even shocking, phenomenon: armed guys were running around the university, mining objects and disarming a bomb! Many witnesses immediately enthusiastically tried to record the event on their phones and cameras: you must admit, something like this does not happen every day! So what’s the matter? And the fact that with the support of the trade union committee of ZNTU students and the active recreation club «Zona 67» we held a unique demonstration laser tag battle!
For reference, let’s note that laser tag – is a military-sports game in real time and space, the essence of which is to impress participants with safe light shots from special weapons.
Our experience was perhaps the first when it was decided to play not on a special site, but on the territory of the university. «Every corner here is familiar, all the entrances and exits. It was very interesting to try playing exactly in this place!» – shares participant Ivan Dashko, who, by the way, became one of the most active enthusiasts of the event.
The game was attended by 16 guys, including students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (from here there were the most representatives), the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering, and the Faculty of Engineering and Physics. The players were divided into two teams, led by Ivan Dashko (ETF) and Anton Sheverdin (ETF). And a fierce battle began! One armed group had 30 minutes to defuse a bomb left by another. And they did it! Anton Sheverdin and his comrades successfully «demined» the third building of ZNTU! The task turned out to be not so simple, because Ivan Dashko’s team had its own secret trump card – «sniper» Vitaliy Shkurko, whose accuracy was noted by participants in both «camps». «Excellent sniper! Very helpful!» – the captain could not hide his emotions.
Ivan Dashko and his «soldiers» decided to take revenge, and another battle was held. This time the fifth building was «mined» by Anton Sheverdin’s team. The battle was incredibly fierce and difficult, but the bomb was never defused, and the guys led by Sheverdin won again! «Nothing, we will definitely fight back on May 25!» – Dashko responded with a smile, but with enthusiasm.
And on May 25, a laser tag tournament among students will be held at the Indoor Arena, and if anyone is interested in this information, we recommend that you contact the ZNTU student trade union committee in auditorium 368a for details.
So, the game was successful, and the participants had a lot of fun: «It was cool!» An internal explosion is felt! We ran, we got tired… But it is much better and more useful than the same computer «shooting games»! And if you want to experience similar emotions, the trade union committee of ZNTU students will be happy to help you!
