Update of living conditions in the student dormitory of the National University "Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic" No. 2

On September 17, Rector Viktor Greshta, together with Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko and Campus Director Vadym Dubyna, visited Dormitory No. 2. Head Anna Borysova briefed the management on the results of the work done.

Implementing the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine, the approved action plan for its implementation for 2023–2024, and relevant decisions of the university administration, Dormitory No. 2 was equipped with barrier-free access facilities.

A vertical lift was installed to ensure architectural accessibility to the building and dormitory premises for people with disabilities. This is another step towards creating appropriate conditions for students with special educational needs. Previous processes include work to ensure the architectural accessibility of the main academic building and the arrangement of sanitary facilities for low-mobility groups.

According to the results of the technical inspection, the building and premises of dormitory No. 2 provide accessibility conditions for people with disabilities in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, for which a corresponding expert opinion was received

The administration of the university and the student campus plans to continue creating inclusive conditions in the university buildings and dormitories.

Within the framework of the signed memorandum of cooperation with the Triangle Generation Humanitarian Association, major repairs were carried out in the toilet on the third floor of dormitory No. 2, namely: dismantling of old tiles, doors, sewage and ventilation; installation of new electrical wiring; sheathing of walls with plasterboard and laying of wall and floor tiles; renewal of water supply, drainage and heating pipes. A new washbasin, toilets and boiler were also purchased and installed.
