German Internship Program for Ukraine «Internship Programme of German Business for Ukraine»
The Internship Program for Ukraine, launched in 2015, offers Ukrainian students, masters, postgraduates and young university graduates the opportunity to complete an internship in leading German companies for 3-5 months. You can submit your application for participation until June 15, 2018. The internship period is from February to June 2019. The program is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the companies in which the Ukrainian participants will be interning.
Bachelor students (who have completed at least 4 semesters), masters, postgraduates and young graduates with or without first work experience can apply. Their field of study should have the following scientific areas: waste management / resource recovery and circular economy, green economy, renewable energy, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy, economics / finance / banking / insurance, agriculture, transport and logistics, computer science and informatics, chemistry, biology, political science, media and communication, German studies, etc.
Applicants must be registered at a Ukrainian university and have Ukrainian citizenship!
They should generally not be older than 30 years old. Very good English is required. Knowledge of German is welcome.
The application procedure consists of:
1. Online applications in English or German. Your application should be sent to the following email address: Applications-GIZ-Internship-Programme-Ukraine@giz.de
2. Interview in one of the following cities – Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Odessa.
3. Interview with the company (usually via Skype).
Dates:
– Application submission – May 2 – June 15, 2018.
– Interview of choice (Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Odesa) – mid-July.
– sending short biographies to participating companies, selection procedure conducted by companies. Often companies make decisions based on written CVs only. Some companies may prefer to conduct an additional interview with the candidate via Skype or phone) – August – October.
– Organization of internship / meeting (contracts, insurance, visa, work permit, placement), carried out by the project team together with fellows and graduates, official reception of new interns – early December in Kyiv.
– Introductory course in Germany. Participation is mandatory – end of January.
– The start of the internship (departure to the respective cities) is February 1.
