Scientific and practical conference at ZNTU
On December 12, 2012, the scientific and practical conference «Current problems of forming the labor potential of the region on the basis of social partnership» was held at Zaporizhzhia National Technical University in the sections «Current problems of training specialists taking into account the needs of the regional labor market» and «Participation of youth associations in forming the labor potential of the region». The conference was organized by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Federation of Employers.
Active participation in the work of the section «Current problems of training specialists taking into account the needs of the regional labor market» received representatives of the trade union committee of ZNTU students, headed by the chairman of the trade union committee of ZNTU students, Andriy Ivanchenko.
The conference was attended by representatives of the employment center, vocational schools, potential employers of leading enterprises in the region, and students. The following issues were considered: «Modern trends in the regulatory and legal support of vocational education», «Self-realization of students of vocational education institutions», «Experience and prospects of student labor centers of the Zaporizhzhia region», «Employment of students during their studies at universities», «Problems of the state policy of Ukraine on the issue of student employment», «Formation and effective use of the labor potential of youth», «The unifying role of the labor youth movement in the development of scientific and technical potential and the popularization of working specialties in the region», «Legal regulation of youth employment after graduation from universities», «Participation of public organizations in the process of internships and youth employment».
During the discussion, the problem of employment of university graduates and its legal regulation was addressed. An equally painful topic for everyone was brought up for consideration – internships during studies. Student leaders were heard with proposals to overcome the problem of youth employment, the development of youth entrepreneurship and youth employment.
As a result of the section’s work, a number of decisions were made to overcome the problem of youth employment, among which the most interesting ones were:
1. Take measures to cover in the media explanations of labor legislation and the procedure for its application.
2. Develop a concept of professional orientation of the region’s youth, which would provide for a vocational guidance course in general education institutions of the region.
3. To hold job fairs, seminars and trainings on youth employment and information on the labor market situation for students of higher educational institutions of the region.
4. To hold regional and regional competitions «Young Employer of the Year» and business plans of entrepreneurial activity among youth and to provide financial support to the winning projects.
5. To promote the development and implementation of the regional Program for the Development of Youth Entrepreneurship.
