Inspired and indomitable heroes of the day – SME «SHIELD»

April 5, 2019 marked the 24th anniversary of the founding of the public order protection organization «Youth Special Unit SHIELD».

The activities of SME «SHIELD» are aimed at maintaining public order, solving problems, and preventing negative phenomena that arise in the student environment.

Over its many years of history, SME «SHIELD» has formed stable ties and established fruitful cooperation with:

– Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration;

– Zaporizhzhia City Council;

– district administration of the Zaporizhzhia City Council for the Oleksandrivskyi district;

– Oleksandrivskyi police station;

– Main Department of the National Police in the city of Zaporizhzhia.

In addition, members of the SME «SHIELD» always closely monitor law and order at city cultural events held in:

– Palace of Sports «Yunist»;

– Palace of Sports «Zaporizhalyuminbud»;

– Palace of Culture «Dniprospetsstal»;

– Palace of Culture «Metallurgists»;

– Regional Youth Center.

Surprisingly, students who are part of the SME «SHIELD», regardless of their tight duty and training schedules, still manage to be students, visiting couples. This deserves not only respect, but also awards, in the presentation of which the guests present took part with pleasure:

– Rector of the National University «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic», Professor Serhiy Borisovich Belikov;

– Deputy Head of the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Administration Vladislav Oleksandrovych Kovpak;

– Deputy Head of the Main Department of the National Police in the city of Zaporizhzhia, Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Oleksandrovych Shevchuk;

– Head of the Oleksandrivskyi Police Department, Police Lieutenant Colonel Volodymyr Volodymyrovych Meteleleha;

– Head of the Department for Work with Youth and Family of the Department of Sports, Family and Youth of the Zaporizhzhia City Council Oleksiy Serhiyovych Savytskyi;

– Head of the Trade Union Committee of Students, Postgraduates and Doctoral Students of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, Associate Professor Andriy Volodymyrovych Ivanchenko;

– Chief Specialist of the Administrative and Legal Department of the District Administration of the Zaporizhzhia City Council for the Oleksandrivskyi District Zhanna Anatoliivna Lyshchynska.

Many good, inspiring words were said on this day, but the most important ones came from the lips of the rector of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, Professor Serhiy Borisovich Belikov: «I am pleased that our university preserves traditions; once, back in Soviet times, the voluntary brigade was preserved and acquired a high status and development here.»

Indeed, today the MSP «SHIELD» is the only student public association of this profile, so we have something to be proud of. And we are proud of those boys and girls who, without sparing their own time and effort, stand guard over our safety during cultural and mass events of various scales.

So we congratulate the SME «SHIELD» and their commander Vasyl Fedorovich Devochkin on this great holiday, and wish them inspiration in their further work, and most importantly, health and happiness!
