Awarding of Heroes of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia
On September 14, the 25th solemn ceremony of awarding the Order of the «People’s Hero of Ukraine» was held at the Zaporizhzhia Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after V. G. Magar. The awarding ceremony was also attended by students of ZNTU.
The Order of the «People’s Hero of Ukraine» is a prestigious non-state award, introduced in 2015 at the initiative of antique collector and volunteer Andriy Boechko and jeweler Dmytro Shcherbakov. This order is a distinction of the people of Ukraine, and for almost three years, 330 people have been awarded. This time, 14 people received the order, including three Zaporizhzhia residents. Unfortunately, many were awarded posthumously. Students who attended the ceremony noted that sometimes it was very difficult to listen to the speeches of relatives and friends of the deceased, however, the large number of those who attended such an event demonstrates a huge level of national respect for the feat!
We congratulate the Heroes of Ukraine and their families with honors, and wish them: good health, encouragement and a peaceful sky above their heads!
