On horses to Berlin!
On October 28 at 18:00 in the assembly hall of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University, the Mechanical Engineering Institute solemnly opened the student autumn season.
The show began with driving punk-rock motifs, in which a shrewd viewer was able to predict the leitmotif of the performance – «Eurotour». At the end of the composition, the students showed an introduction, which explained to the audience how the pioneers prepared for their cold autumn. Finally, the composition of the jury was announced: the head of the trade union committee of students of ZNTU Andriy Ivanchenko, the director of the CCDS of ZNTU Viktoriya Kominova, as well as our regular connoisseurs Oleh Zyma, Gari Moroz, Oleksandr Goncharov, Snizhana Lobodyuk, Vadym Bragutsa. The alternative jury this time included: Tetyana Osmukha (EGI), Anna Deineka (IIRE), Kyrylo Benda (FTI), Alina Korobka (IUP). After the presentation of the judges, Oleksandr Goncharov drew attention to the fact that on October 29, 19 years have passed since Serhii Borisovych Belikov took the post of rector of ZNTU.

Students of the Mechanical Engineering Institute planned the plot as in the famous movie «Eurotour», but with their own chips. The viewer watched the alternate change of two storylines. In the first – two friends, one of them wants to get to a girl in Germany. Having forgotten their tickets to Berlin, they are forced to fly from Kyiv to London, from London to Paris, then to Amsterdam, and later to Bucharest by hitchhiking, from where they have already rushed to Berlin on horses. As it turned out, during this time the girl returned home to Zaporizhzhia, so the happy and confident friends went back to meet their love. A second story line was organically woven into this plot – numbers that characterized the current state of the boys. The audience saw fiery dances of gypsies and Cossacks, hip-hop dances, a philosophical monologue, solo singing (as well as duets and trios), Ukrainian national songs and contemporary love songs, author’s poems. It should also be mentioned their collective KVN team, which presented a couple of «sketches» to the audience. In this whirlwind there was even a competition of beat boxers, and later a staged battle of medieval knights. The performance ended with a happy ending and the final song with the participation of the entire creative team of MI.
In general, MI has set a fairly high bar for other institutes, so we look forward to the next student seasons: we think that our creative students have something to surprise the audience.
