International educational project of the TEMPUS program «PROMENG»
On August 28, 2013, at the Department of Software of Zaporizhzhia National Technical University within the framework of the international educational project TEMPUS PROMENG «Professionally oriented master’s programs in engineering in Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine» (2010-2013) a coordination meeting was held, which was attended by representatives of:
- Zaporizhzhia National Technical University (International Department, Departments of Software, Computer Systems and Networks, Electrical Machines, Electrical Apparatus, Metal-Cutting Machines and Tools, Machine Parts and Lifting and Transport Mechanisms)
- University of KU Leuven, DeNair Campus (Belgium)
- enterprises and organizations of the Zaporizhzhia region (PJSC «Zaporizhtransformator», LLC «Tandem»)
The meeting was opened by the Assistant to the Rector for International Cooperation, Professor Andrienko Oleksandr Mykolayovych, and Associate Professor of the Department of Software, Parkhomenko Anzhelika Volodymyrivna. They spoke about the main results of the implementation of the international educational project PROMENG at ZNTU, namely:
- updated curricula for master’s training in a number of specialties
- created a data transfer laboratory
- created a computer laboratory for CAD/CAM/CAE systems
- received licensed software Creo 2.0 (previous name Pro/ENGINEER), ALTIUM DESIGNER, MATHCAD
- completed training of two pilot groups of students at the Berlin Academy of Modern TRVZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving)
- internship of ZNTU teachers at the Technical University of Berlin (Germany) and the Lessius-Mechelen University, DeNier campus (Belgium)
Opening of the meeting
The representative of the University of Leuven Petro Arras told the future masters about the education system in Belgium and held a master class on the CAD/CAM/CAE system Creo 2.0. The students received a good opportunity to communicate in English, as well as skills in working with the computer-aided design system, which is known all over the world and is used in various industries. A more detailed study of the CAD/CAM/CAE system Creo 2.0 is provided for in the curricula of students of the Department of Software, as well as the Department of Electrical Machines.

Head of the Automation Department of PJSC «Zaporizhtransformator», a graduate of ZNTU Andriy Spahi spoke about his experience using the Pro/ENGINEER system for automated design, engineering analysis and production preparation at the enterprise. The enterprise is very interested in graduates mastering this design tool and being ready to immediately start solving complex engineering and production problems.

Olha Gladkova presented a real project «Automated milling and engraving processing system» by students of the Department of Software Tools, created using the received licensed software Creo 2.0. Work on the project was carried out under the supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of Software Tools Parkhomenko A.V. with the participation of specialists from the Department of Metal-Cutting Machine Tools and Tools Glushko A.V. and Klymenko V.Yu. The project aroused interest and received high marks. One of the authors of the project, this year’s graduate Ruslan Vershinin answered numerous questions from students, teachers and representatives of PJSC «Zaporizhtransformator».

The activities carried out will contribute to the integration of ZNTU into the European education system and will allow to improve the quality of the process of training highly qualified specialists for the real sector of the economy in accordance with the requirements of modern science.
