International days as a means of realizing the internationalization of universities
The program of individual mobility of teachers and students is one of the promising directions of the Erasmus + international program. Different universities are looking for various ways to most effectively implement this mobility, the most popular approach is the holding of summer thematic schools.
Teachers, graduate students, and students of ZNTU became participants in another example of internationalization of higher education institutions – international days held jointly by KU Leuven University (Belgium) and Thomas More University College Mechelen Antwerpen (Belgium).
Representatives of universities from all over the world exchanged experience in international communication, methods and means of teaching material from various directions, results of scientific research, established new contacts for expanding partnership. The seminars were held during the week from March 7 to 12 in the form of parallel sections for students and teachers.
Professor of the Department of Software Tools of ZNTU Halyna Volodymyrivna Tabunshchik as part of the individual mobility of the Erasmus+ KA1 program at the invitation of Professor Toon Goedeme (Prof. Toon Goedeme) held seminars for masters in electronics and masters in information technologies of KU Leuven in the discipline «Quality of information systems» and covered the topics «Working with version control systems», «Functional testing of embedded systems using remote laboratories», «Model-oriented testing of embedded systems». As part of international days, she made a report on the potential of ZNTU for international cooperation and the use of the remote GOLDi laboratory for training in the discipline «Quality of embedded systems».
Postgraduate students of ZNTU, who are currently on internship at KU Leuven under the Erasmus+ KA1 program, also held seminars as part of the international days: Mark Kuchugurov (scientific manager Vnukov Yu.M.) gave a report on the topic «Dynamics of the cutting process in turning», and Anton Germashev (scientific manager Vnukov Yu.M.) gave a report on the topic «Vibrations during thin walled end milling».
As part of international days at the De Nair campus, ZNTU students studying at KU Leuven in the spring semester had the opportunity to listen to lectures by teachers from France, the Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Israel, Portugal, etc. The program is in file International Day – Final Version.pdf (pdf, 588 KB). They also got acquainted with the experience of mobility of students from all over the world within the framework of various programs.
There is a bilateral agreement with the KU Leven University on the implementation of the mobility of master’s students, postgraduates and teachers. The application deadline for the fall semester of 2016/2017 for engineering master’s students is April 10.
