International conference «President’s Meeting 2017» within the framework of the student organization BEST
From November 8 to 14, Istanbul, Turkey, hosted one of the two annual general meetings of the international student organization BEST – «President’s Meeting 2017». It was attended by representatives of more than 90 technical universities from 32 European countries. Zaporizhzhia National Technical University was represented by Alina Lashchenkova, a student of FEU-115 group – the president of BEST Zaporizhzhia.
The official opening day was held at the most prestigious university in Turkey – Bo?aziçi University, during which delegates took part in the international career fair «BEST Career Support», where they had the opportunity to communicate with representatives of international companies such as EATON, AVERYDENNISON, VEOLIA, PolinWaterparks and others, and even be invited for an interview.
The format of the event also included 4 working days, where representatives of all local BEST branches made decisions on various issues. Among them: consideration and adoption of reports on the work of the international leadership of BEST and its structural departments, extension of contracts and approval of new collaborations with other international student organizations, both European and American, resolution of issues regarding the statuses of the existence of local groups. During these days, the delegates took part in various discussion groups and commissions, had the opportunity to express their opinions and suggestions on improving the functioning of the international BEST, attended trainings and exchanged experiences among themselves.
As a result of attending the event, cooperation with Ukrainian local branches was improved, contacts were established with representatives of many European universities, and Zaporizhzhia National Technical University was well represented.
