London is getting closer: more than 3,000 students continue to fight in the «Aviator 2018» project
The educational project «Aviator 2018» of the Boris Kolesnikov Foundation is gaining momentum: on February 8, the second qualifying stage was held in technical universities of Ukraine. 3,200 contestants competed in their knowledge of technical English, which is recognized as international in the global aviation community.
For an hour, students completed creative tasks and passed tests prepared for them by the project’s expert council. Contestants who receive high scores in this round will secure a place in the next one: in March, the organizers will check how well the young aviators know the theory and history of aviation.
The President of the Charitable Foundation Boris Kolesnikov noted that the «Aviator 2018» competition has successfully crossed its equator. He wished the students success, to prove themselves, and to surprise the expert jury. «This is an important stage for the contestants, because without aviation technical language there is nothing to do in aviation. It remains to wish all participants of the competition high results. We will meet the winners in the final. The path to London is not easy, but it is worth it,» Boris Kolesnikov emphasized.
Young specialists are not only repeating the theory, but also thinking through startup ideas for the final, which will be held in April. «I am in my sixth year of study, and I have managed to forget a little of the subjects that were taught to us in the first years. I remember everything, reread the textbooks, and at the same time I am preparing for the final, making a fundamental presentation of my own project. I want to hear comments and professional advice from industry experts so that my business idea can be implemented and become successful in the future,» said Vadym Shelyuzhak, a student at the M.E. Zhukovsky National Aerospace University «Kharkiv Aviation Institute.»
Students of technical specialties from all over Ukraine are competing for a trip to the Farnborough International Air Show in London, which will be held in July. There are one hundred prize places. The most talented and purposeful contestants will be awarded with diplomas of the winners of the "Aviator 2018", for whom visiting the specialized forum in the UK will help them in their further development in the profession.
Let us recall that the activities of the Boris Kolesnikov Foundation are focused on holding educational competitions for students of Ukraine. For ten years, the organization has been implementing projects designed to support young people, show them prestigious specialized exhibitions of the world, and introduce them to the latest achievements and innovations in the industry. In 2017, the Ukrainian Philanthropists Forum named the Borys Kolesnikov Foundation the largest charitable organization with a budget of over 10 million UAH aimed at the development of education and science in Ukraine.
