Who is on top?
On Wednesday, October 18, the 5th stage of the «Battle of the Universities» competition took place in the assembly hall of the Classical Private University. It became the intellectually entertaining «Who’s on top?»
6 Zaporizhzhia higher educational institutions participated in it: Zaporizhzhia State Engineering Academy (ZDIA), Zaporizhzhia State Medical University (ZDMU), Zaporizhzhia Institute of Economics and Information Technologies (ZIEIT), Zaporizhzhia National University (ZNU), Classical Private University (KPU) and, of course, our Zaporizhzhia National Technical University (ZNTU). There were 2 representatives from each educational institution: one boy and one girl. The honor of our university was defended by Maksym Bondarev and Kateryna Kukovytska.
The essence of the game was as follows: two teams take part: a boys’ team and a girls’ team. A total of 7 rounds, where the participants must demonstrate their cleverness and speed of mind, at the end of which a winning team is chosen, whose participants compete for the first place.
The game is intellectual, but at the same time very humorous. In the first round, teams had to choose the correct answer to a question. The questions were quite unusual. For example, the boys’ team got the question: «What confuses girls the most: a broken nail or an arrow on pantyhose?», and the girls’ team: «What do boys dislike the most: shopping or drinking?». The questions turned out to be too «difficult» and no team answered them correctly. In the second round, participants wore a cube with letters written on the front and back. The task was that the teams had to collect as many words as possible from these letters in 90 seconds.
The next rounds were no less interesting, the participants guessed songs, the names of the emblems of foreign cars, built a team of rivals according to certain criteria (boys according to the number of exes, and girls according to the number of followers on Instagram), guessed the cost of a fire extinguisher, a hookah, a curling iron, a razor and other items. It was surprising news for the boys’ team that a regular women’s curling iron costs about a thousand hryvnias.
In a fierce struggle in intellectual contests and competitions for cleverness and speed, the winners were … girls!
And here is the final competition of the game, which should reveal the best University of the Zaporizhzhia region. Probably, there will be something difficult and… «Battle of universities» surprises again! 6 girls were given a difficult task – to sit on a chair in time. At first, the music played, to which the girls danced, and when it stopped, you had to find an empty chair and sit on it, but the problem was that there were 1 fewer chairs than the participants, and all the girls were blindfolded.
Unfortunately, the representative of our university, Katya Kukovytska, was eliminated from the game exactly one step before the final. According to the results of the game, Zaporizhzhia State Medical University took 3rd place, Zaporizhzhia National University took 2nd place, and the winner was the Zaporizhzhia Institute of Economics and Information Technologies.
Well, let’s not be disappointed and thank all the participants. We hope that everyone who took part in the competition not only became representatives of their universities in the battle for the championship, but also became good friends!
