Who is the master at home?
On October 23, the team from Kryvyi Rih «Kryvbas-2» visited Zaporizhzhia, and the team «BC Zaporizhzhia-2-ZNTU» showed that it is too early for them to fight with the owners of the site.
Confident defense and skillful actions of the big men of Zaporizhzhia, namely Oleksandr Bartolomeev, made it possible to make a quick break, and Bartolomeev’s dunk put a small point in the first quarter already in the middle of it. The quarter ended with a score of 23-14.
In the second quarter, «Kryvbas-2» could not offer anything, so the margin only increased. It is necessary to note the actions of the captain of the Zaporizhzhia team, Vadym Bykov, who not only ignited the team with individual actions, but also helped in defense and the fight for rebounds.
The defense of Zaporizhzhia was on top, that’s why we saw in the second quarter, so to speak, a block-fight, which Vladyslav Shanin and Oleh Kornienko arranged, making 3 blocks for two in a few seconds. The second quarter ended with the score 20-14.
The third quarter, in my opinion, was the most interesting. Serhii Myasoedov and Yurii Kondrakov showed a great game in these 10 minutes. So first we saw a spectacular and-one from Myasoedov, and then a brutal blockshot from Kondrakov (the whole hall got up and went crazy from this block). In the third quarter, Illia Mikheev received a strong blow to the face, but such mini-injuries are not an obstacle for our courageous players: in just a few seconds, Illia answered «Kryvbas» with a masterful spin-move. The third quarter ended with the score 22-18.
The fourth quarter was almost the turning point in this game. «Kryvbas-2» very quickly began to reduce the backlog. So Horobchenko set the pace for Kryvyi Rih, but the captain of Zaporizhzhia-2-ZNTU showed «who is the boss at home» by demonstrating his skill in three-point shots.
The last quarter was extremely tense. Two minutes before the end of the match, newcomer Dmytro Sorochan was removed for aggressive play. I would like to say that at some points the actions of the judges were quite controversial, and sometimes simply absurd. It was unpleasant to see how the referees did not see obvious violations and made remarks where there were none at all, both in the direction of one and the other team.
The game ended with the score 88-75. BC «Zaporizhzhia-2-ZNTU» confidently defeats «Kryvbas-2».
It must be said that the second match of the tour was successful for our team. That is, the score in the series is 2-0, «Kryvbas-2» goes home without points. Thus, BC «Zaporizhzhia-2-ZNTU» starts with a score of 4 wins and 0 losses. The home games of «defenders of Zaporizhzhia Parquet» ended with a great score.
It was nice to see a large number of fans on the balconies of the ZNTU sports complex, but I think that we Mashynkiv residents can gather even more people, so encourage your friends and teammates to go to the games and support your team. Indeed, basketball is a difficult game, but even after the first viewing, everyone can find something interesting and spectacular in it!
