XI All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference «State ethno-national policy: legal and cultural aspects in the conditions of Southern Ukraine»
On October 8-9, 2015, in the premises of Zaporizhzhia National Technical University, the Department of Ukrainian Studies and General Language Training of ZNTU, with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Institute of Political and Ethno-National Studies named after I.F. Kuras of the NAS of Ukraine, the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration and the Zaporizhzhia Regional Museum of Local Lore, held the traditional XI All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference «State Ethno-National Policy: Legal and Cultural Aspects in the Conditions of Southern Ukraine», dedicated to the 115th anniversary of ZNTU. In addition to scientists from Zaporizhzhia, the conference was attended by representatives of scientific centers of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Crimea, Odessa, Kherson and Khmelnytsky regions. In total, more than ninety scientific articles and materials were submitted to the conference.

The plenary session traditionally welcomed the first scientist who applied for participation in the conference and the first registered participant of this scientific gathering. In the afternoon, after a lunch break and informal communication, the conference participants took part in a meeting of 5 sections («The Role of Civil Society in the Formation of Ethno-National Policy in Ukraine»» (section heads: Doctor of Philology, Professor, Head of the Department of Slavic Philology of the Berdyansk University of Management and Business O.M. Vodotyka and Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine, Regional Studies and Tourism Studies of the Kyiv National Linguistic University V.M. Lyman)) and the round table «Taking into account the ethnocultural features of the South of Ukraine when developing and implementing state ethnopolicy» (leaders: Head of the Department of Nationalities and Religions of the Department of Interethnic Relations and Religions of the Department of Culture, Tourism, Nationalities and Religions of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration V.M. Bobylev and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of ZNTU, Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and ZMP M.V. Dedkov). The participants of the Round Table, among other things, noted the not overestimated role of these traditional scientific and practical conferences in the life of both Southern Ukraine and the state as a whole. The further holding of such annual scientific meetings, according to the participants of the round table, is justified and expedient.
The conference ended with a final plenary session. The speakers and section leaders noted the high level of scientific novelty and practical significance of the results of the speeches of scientists and representatives of national communities. The conference participants noted that despite the difficult times for our country, creative ties between scientists of different generations, scientific schools and regions of Ukraine (including temporarily occupied ones) continue to be maintained.
The conference organizers also provided a cultural and entertainment program for its participants, which consisted of a visit to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Museum of Local Lore, a trip to the island of Khortytsia, an excursion to the historical and ethnographic complex «Zaporizhzhia Sich» (Khortytsia Island) and visiting the performance of the Equestrian Theater of Zaporizhzhia Cossacks «Herts».
