Hryhoriy Chepurnenko: «I realized that for me photography is a way of communicating with people»
The first photo exhibition of a novice photographer in the walls of his native university: the goal, hopes and expectations of a young artist.
On February 10, a photo exhibition by a student of our university Hryhoriy Chepurnenko was held in the library of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University. Now the young artist is studying in the second year of the Faculty of Computer Sciences and Technologies. Hryhorii’s paintings impress with their depth and meaning, so we decided to find out what inspires him.
Hryhorii, have you been involved in photography for a long time? How long did you plan this photo exhibition?
«I have been in photography for about a year, I did not plan the exhibition, and I was very surprised when I had such an opportunity. But, as they say, »the stars aligned«, I am very glad that I was given the opportunity to present myself. During my activity, I realized that for me photography is a way of communicating with people.»
Why did you decide to focus on the art portrait genre?
«I couldn’t decide for a long time what exactly should get into my lens, so I decided to try all directions, and as a result I realized that an art portrait is something that can reveal the inner world of a person, decorating it with the necessary context»
I know that for successful art portraits you need to be a subtle psychologist, your photo series reveals the inner world of different people and phenomena, how did you combine all this?
«Yes, this is a component of good photography, I have always been interested in psychology. A person can be compared to a rainbow – it covers all the wealth of shades of emotions, my task is to show everything: joy, sadness, the path that was overcome for a smile. All this can be combined even with one word »Search«, what I needed to find my true self.»
Do you plan to continue doing photography, maybe soon we will see your exhibition again, but already in the best galleries of the city?
«I want to connect my life with photography, and of course I would be happy if as many people as possible could see my work, I don’t know about galleries, but I would definitely like to present my works in the walls of my native university»
Gryhoriy’s creative path is just beginning, and his works are already breathtaking. With his creativity, the artist destroys patterns – understanding the basics of the technical profession, he cannot imagine his life without creativity, so we wish him to conquer all the desired peaks.
